A well kept
prominent wood burner, ideal for those chilly nights as well as ahuge TV (one of many throughout the property) and full homeentertainment system. Visitors to Bookilber will not bedisappointed with the outdoor living options as there is aspacious garden, patio, accompanying garden furniture, separate BBQ area and not forgetting the ultra chic hot tubcomplete with CD player and subtle lighting. This luxury itemwas utilised frequently!
All in all, making it ideal for taking advantage of this trulyunique property and peaceful location. On one occasionthroughout the weekend a few walkers ambled by and I reallycouldn’t resist going out into the grounds to pretend I wasgardening, acting like lady of the manor (well. you can dream!)
I cannot speak highly enough of Bookilber Barn; never in allmy 38 years have I genuinely enjoyed a place so much. It’s anideal place for families and friends to share quality time together.
Most rural settings like to take you back to basics and cansubsequently leave you yearning for your own surroundings andcomforts. The exact opposite applies here as you will neverwant to leave this idyllic of Yorkshire settings, if deadline for thisissue wasn’t approaching I would still be there now. This placeis what dreams are made of and the only thing that the ownersdon’t do well is cut corners.
So, to finish my only words of advice are book Bookilbernow.

If you go down past the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise. Situatedwithin the spectacular countryside of
the Yorkshire Dales, this 17th Centuryrecently restored farmhouse barn offersa glimpse of paradise, calm andtranquillity that really has to be seen tobe believed. Upon first viewingBookilber Barn my breath was literarilytaken away as I was overwhelmed bythe magnitude of the place and itssetting.
The barn is situated approximatelytwo miles along Langber Lane that is soutterly removed from the noise andhaste, but is just off the Settle to KirkbyMalham Road only 1.5 miles from thehistoric town of Settle, North Yorkshire. This is ideally situated as the bustlingmarket town offers a variety of shops, pubs and eating establishments.
However, the most striking feature of
Bookilber Barn is the very high standardto which it is furnished, I felt like I wason the set of Dallas. After the ownershad settled us in, we patiently waited forthem to leave and then squealed withsheer delight at our weekendsurroundings. The place simply exudesstyle and character with attention to thesmallest of details that ensures that yourstay will be as comfortable as possible. An example of this is the fact that theowners spent time individually and with
their children within the property in orderto establish the needs of their guests. The Barn benefits from modernisationthroughout, with under floor heating andstate of the art lighting systems to a welldesigned, spacious kitchen completewith American style fridge freezer withbuilt in ice machine, ideal for a fewcheeky gin and tonics!
There are six bedrooms in total, eachwith their own unique style andambience. Each room has the addedbenefit of being en suite with the stylishbathrooms perfectly complimenting theultra comfy bedrooms. The Barn alsobenefits from having its own wing, entrance and sitting room thereforeoffering an element of privacy forguests. There is a room to suit yourmood, no matter how changeable youare!
Whilst I was preparing the eveningmeal I was forced to laugh when myhusband Chris came into the kitchenand exclaimed ‘Even the cot is colourco-ordinated!’
The feature barn doors provide aframe for the incredible landscape thatsits comfortably next to the Barn.
The main sitting area features a
