Dr. Carol Huston will be Keynote Speaker for the Sigma Region One
International Educational & Research Conference, 2019. Dr. Huston is an
international nursing leader, motivational speaker, and acclaimed
nursing educator. She served as the 2007-2009 President of Sigma Theta
Tau International. She currently serves as the lead faculty for Sigma's
Experienced Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy (2014-present) and as
the leadership facilitator/coordinator for Sigma's Institute for Global
Healthcare Leadership. She will share her expertise in global leadership,
nursing empowerment and its translation to the conference themes.

Conference Outcomes:
• Propel innovative and collaborative research and evidence-based practice strategies that connect colleagues to improve global health awareness and motivation to increase nursing activism and leadership in global experiential education and nursing practice.
• Facilitate development of team-based healthcare through interprofessional education and team practice models applying evidence-based practice to promote equitable patient-centered care.
• Activate knowledge transformation and create synergies for professional development within practice and education.

• Email notification of abstract acceptance will be sent to the presenting author only by January 30, 2019.
• The authors’ failure to return the “intent to present” and CE required bio information will disqualify the abstract from presentation
• An individual may submit more than one abstract; however, if successfully reviewed, only one submission will be accepted for presentation as a podium presentation
• If successfully reviewed, final abstract acceptance will be conditional upon registration by the presenting author.
• PowerPoint presentation must be uploaded by the identified deadline.
