A Visit to Industry is a lovely and lively, wonderful and

scintillating experience to the Management Tyros and it is a

source of acquiring real knowledge, a practical perspective on

the world of work, an exposure on practical aspects as well as

challenges that industry face in real business scenario. It

sensitizes the students about the procedures, processes,

structures and Modus Operadi of operations of the industry. It is

nothing but learning and managing curve by observation.

An Industrial Visit is a live working environment, a rare

exposure to external perspective in order to facilitate students

with breath-taking technologies and innovative industrial

trends. Industrial Visits provide conceptual as well as realistic

insights about various management concepts and also provides

first-hand information about how these concepts are put into

action. Further, Industrial Visits bridges academia-industry

consortia, sensitize students to learn practically through

interaction and enable the students to apply their classroom

learning to a real-life situation while being mentored by a

variety of industry experts.

The Visit to the Industry is to be considered as one of the

most tactical methods of teaching provides insights about the

internal functional environment, gives clarity about practical

procedures and put concepts into action. Besides, the student

gains a perspective of what has been disseminated in class

rooms and get an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge

about the field of their interest, helping them make the correct

career choice in future. Interfacing with the industry gives them

a chance to build networks and hone their business

communication skills.

The aim of an Industrial Visit is to provide a brief idea to

students about the functionality of Management Concepts viz.,

POSDCORB to the real world experiences. These prepare

students and make them confident in learning and managing

knowledge curves completely for their future career. Moreover,

these assist students to assess, evaluate, monitor and weigh

productivity, efficiency in specialized areas in information

technology, business analysis and research.

Industrial Visits to Software Companies empower the

students with the power of business intelligence, data mining

applications and analytics eg.,

1. IBM - Rational Software (A suite which helps students

improve productivity in code-centric, model-driven

and rapid application development, process portfolio

management, software configuration management

and management of software quality)

2. SPSS (Evaluate business processes analytically and

efficiently), Cloud based (such as SaaS, PaaS, IaaS,

MaaS, AaaS, etc.)

The planned phase of Industrial Visit consists of:

1. At first Placement Officer approaches the concerned Industry and takes approval from the Industry regarding :- Date of visit- Departments to visit and- Duration of the visit.

2. After getting approval from the visited Industry the next

phase commences to consult the Tours & Travel

Agencies regarding the cost of conveyance, boarding &

lodging expenses, cafeteria, pantry etc.,

3. The immediate phase starts with beefing up Security

Measures as a part of planning put into execution.

Importantly, taking Authentication Letters primarily from

parents, next to students, travel agencies as well as

visiting industries as to safeguard the students and the

Educational Institution which organizes the Industrial Visit.

4. A focus on plans, programmes and procedures

besides vision, mission, objectives & Corporate

Social Responsibility of the Industry is imminent to the

Practicing Managers for their day-to-day affairs. Hence,

the modus operandi of the Industry takes into

consideration as a part of planned phase of Industrial Visit.

5. An Overview of Industrial Performance (Intra & Inter)
