About GTU Youth Festival ‘Xitij’

XITIJ, Gujarat Technological University’s youth festival is a bouquet of opportunities for

youth, a platform for youth where they unleash their hidden talents and receive public

accolades and become famous.

“XITIJ” name given to the youth festival organized by Gujarat Technological University

(GTU). “XITIJ 2019” is the 9th

youth festival by GTU for its Degree Engineering, M.E, MBA,

Pharmacy students.

The Youth festival is divided in five different zones of Gujarat.

1. Ahmadabad Zone

2. Gandhinagar Zone

3. Vallabh-Vidyanagar Zone

4. Rajkot Zone

5. Surat Zone

After completion of youth festival at five different zones, the inter-zonal youth festival is

organized at the nominated institute at state level where all the winners from the different zones

show-case their best talent to strive for winning inter-zonal competition. Similar to the youth

festival at state level divided in five zones the festival at national level also divided in five

zones.

1. West Zone

2. South Zone

3. North Zone

4. East Zone

5. North East Zone

The winners of inter-zonal (state level) participate for west zone of India. Winners participate

at the central level of India. The final overall national level winners represent India at the

international platform.

S. N. Patel Institute of Technology and Research Center, Umrakh hosted the south zone (Zone

5) youth festival from 19th

September to 21st September 2019 and Shree H. N. Shukla

Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Rajkot hosted the Inter Zonal youth

festival from 12th

October to 14th

October, 2019.

There are total 33 various events under 5 major categories of Music, Dance, Theatre, Literature

and Fine Arts.

Youth Festival Journey

We have started our journey of youth festival by issuing the notice for youth festival from 29-

07-2019. The Audition held in five categories at different places.

The categories are,

1. Music

2. Dance

3. Theatre

4. Literature

5. Fine Arts

The auditions for all this events were held from 21st Aug 2019 onwards at SCET, Surat.

The details of total students participated in the audition, is as per the below mentioned table:

Out of all these entries, jury members short listed total 55 Students for different events to

participate in the Youth Festival 2019.

We have taken help of Professionals for three Events 1) Theatre 2) Fine Arts and 3) Folk Dance

Professionals for Theatre event : Mrs.Twisha Shukla and Mr.Tarak Shukla

Professional for Fine Arts : Mr.Mayur Degdawala

Professional for Music : Mr.Mohil Parmar

Zone 5 Participation

SCET participated in total 30 events out of 33 total events and has won trophies in total 23

events.

SCET has won the Category Championship for Music, Litrature, Fine Arts and Dance

SCET also become the Zonal Champion.

Inter zonal Participation

All the winners of Zone 5 youth festival, participated in the Interzonal youth festival 2019 held

at Rajkot. Following is the statistical details of participation and winners of Inter Zonal

participation of Youth Festival 2019.

SCET participated in total 21 events out of 33 total events and won in total 9 events.

SCET won the Category Championship for Music.

SCET has also become the overall Interzonal Champion(State Level)
