RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN:
It is a descriptive research.
COLLECTION OF DATA:
The data collected is both of primary and secondary nature.
The primary data is collected by means of questionnaires
filled up by the respondents. The secondary data iscollected from various sources such as internet, magazines,
journals, etc.

was total 100 of which 50 were the washingmachine dealers in South Delhi while the other 50
were the customers.

RESEARCH TOOLS AND QUESTIONNAIRE
Questionnaire- Two close ended structured
questionnaires were developed-
one for the dealersand the other for the customers.
Sampling Method- Random sampling was used
to choose the sample from the population.

FINDINGS OF THE STUDY
IFB has a strong presence in the market followed bySamsung, Whirlpool and LG.
Whirlpool has the highest sales in the market followed byIFB and Samsung.
Washing machine has a strong presence in most of thehouseholds implying that it is an important tool for thepeople.
Whirlpool is the brand which is preferred most by thecustomers followed by IFB and LG.
Price is quoted as the most important factor while makingpurchase of a washing machine followed by quality andtechnological superiority.

RECOMMENDATIONS
IFB need to create public awareness in market & incurredheavily on promotional activities
Need to increase number of dealers in south Delhi, searchfor new dealers in this region
IFB try to come up with special customize shop only forIFB products
Give much concern to exhibition on different location inDelhi, where IFB can reach maximum and potentialcustomers
Need capture as much display as it can in the stores forbatter sales
Dealers discounts and schemes should be maintain tosatisfy dealers

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
Due to the time constraints and other factors affecting the
study the survey was limited only in the South Delhi
region.
The data was gathered from 100 respondents only (50
dealers and 50 customers) depending on convenience and
it was done through random sampling.
Moreover the responses are based on the perceptions of
just 50 customers who were surveyed through thequestionnaire.

CONCLUSION
Thus from the study it can be concluded that washing machinesegment has tremendous potential in the electronics market segment.Washing Machines have become a necessity in the busy fast-pacedlives of the individuals in the current scenario. People prefer washingmachines over hand washing their clothes for hassle free and quickwashing experience.
IFB, Whirlpool and LG are undoubtedly the market leaders in thewashing machine segment followed by Samsung giving thesecompanies a tough competition.
Although IFB has a strong presence in the stores as compared to itscompetitors yet its competitors like LG and Whirlpool remain leaderswhen it comes to the preferences of the consumers.
IFB need to create public awareness in market & incurred heavily on
promotional activities. It needs to increase number of dealers in southDelhi, search for new dealers in this region. IFB should try to come upwith special customized shop only for IFB products and give muchconcern to exhibition on different location in Delhi, where IFB canreach maximum and potential customers
