Every picking operationinvolves data transfer. Whetheryou’re using a paper-basedsystem, data monitors, scan guns or RFID, it is important that these tools areconveniently located, securelymounted and protected fromdamage or loss. Crown’s flexible Work Assist™

The GPC 3000 provides superior driving performance and fatigue-reducing comfort,

both of which are important to operator efficiency. Process studies show, however,

that up to 90 percent of typical picking cycle tasks are performed off the truck.

Therefore Crown has focused on a significant number of features which reduce

and simplify the operator’s movement while performing tasks off, but in conjunction

Studies of picking applications show three broad categories of operator tasks: walking, handling products and driving. The walking category includeswalking between the rack and truck and completingstretch wrap, weighing and other off-truck tasks.Handling products includes picking and loading tasks. Driving includes both in-aisle positioning and transporting to and from the distribution point.

Pick Position Control™ allowsthe operator to “walk” thetruck to the next pick locationthereby eliminating the extrasteps and delays needed toenter and exit the driver’splatform. Acceleration andtravel speed are carefully tuned to precisely match operator motion without hesitation.

The GPC 3055 offersseveral importantadvantages in highthroughput applications.Especially designed forheavy, bulky products, it lifts two pallets, each with a capacity of 1000 kg, toheights of 850 mm. Theforks can be lowered orraised to minimise lifting andbending for the operator,which reduces fatigue and contributes to steady pickrates the entire work shift.With loads positioned at aconvenient height, there’salso less chance of damageresulting from productsbeing dropped onto a pallet.

The GPC 3000 Seriesfamily also includes aplatform lift option toposition operators foreasier second-levelpicking. Operators benefitfrom a stable platform thatcan be raised to heights of950 mm. The backrest ispadded, giving operators aconvenient and comfortable

Fork Lift

An optional fold-downstep provides a practicaland economical way toextend the reach of theoperator. The safety-interlocked step features a wide tread for two-footstability, complemented by a grab handle on the back-rest. Operators benefit froma faster, easier and saferway to handle out-of-reach product without steppingonto racks or products.Warehouse managers benefit by saving valuable
