As one of the largest environmental services
companies in North America, we collect millions of
tonnes of waste — including recyclable materials —
each year. We recycle:
• The equivalent of nearly five million trees annually
• A variety of materials, including newspaper,
cardboard, office paper, plastic containers, glass
bottles, organics, fibreboard, wood and ferrous and
aluminum metals.
• Over two million tires annually, transforming them
into crumb rubber chips for use in our innovative
landfills for drainage and other uses.
Materials Recovery To provide practical, front-line support
for recycling efforts, we operate
dedicated materials recovery facilities
(MRFs) across North America. Our managers are
skilled at capturing quality recoverable materials that
are marketed to post-consumer mills for the best
attainable product value, which in turn helps reduce
the customer’s recycling costs.
Waste and Recycling Analysis
To continue being progressive, we are
giving our customers the proper tools, new
services and new choices to recycle. We
identify, quantify and analyze the composition of waste
generated by our customers, often across multiple
functional areas. Our reports and analysis are used to
develop comprehensive waste reduction work plans,
identifying ways we can partner to increase diversion
and generate value from the recovery of waste materials.
Training and Education Our work doesn’t stop with recycling.
We know the importance of getting
communities, institutions, governments,
students and employees trained and knowledgeable
on how to easily recycle their waste. Together, we can
increase recycling rates and increase diversion from
landfills to benefit our environment.
As residents of the communities we serve, we feel
a personal obligation to take ownership for building
progressive, caring and sustainable local economies.
