a message from the tree dedication chapter...

Tree Dedication
On June 6, 2019, members and colleagues dedicated a tree in honor of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges-MCC Chapter's 25th anniversary, and for being named the top chapter in the U.S. Located adjacent to the Robin and Tim Wentworth Arts Building, the tree is a visible tribute to current and past AAWCC—MCC Chapter members who inspire and support our students, colleagues, and the Greater Rochester community through volunteerism and service.
A special thank you to Greg Nickason (Facilities), Mike Wichtowski (Facilities) & Darwin Snow (Applied Technologies) who helped create this special moment. Greg and Mike lent their expertise to identify and plant the white fringe tree; Darwin designed and produced the exquisite plaque.

A Message from the Chapter President
What an amazing journey it was! I cannot believe I have been your President for two years. I have truly enjoyed every moment. I did manage to step out of my comfort zone, and I am very proud of what the Chapter has accomplished under my leadership. After all, we did win the 2019 Chapter of the Year Award! BRAVO!
What a great semester it was! I hope you had a chance to join us on our annual Women’s History
Trip that brought us back to the Women’s Rights National Historical Park and the Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls in May. We even found time to do a little shopping at the Sauders Amish Market as well.
To commemorate our 25 years of existence, we had a tree dedication ceremony in June with a magnificent commemorative plaque made by Darwin Snow from Applied Technologies. Next time you walk around campus, make sure to stop by the Robin and Tim Wentworth Arts Building (Bldg. 4) – lawn adjacent to Lot F and take a peek.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful team of women I worked with for the past two years: President-elect Mary Rizzo, Treasurer Toni Custodio, Secretary Lori Scipioni, all chairs and co-chairs of committees: Susan Noonan, Rosanna Yule, Courtney Sprague, Yolanda Johnson, Julianna Frisch, April Spring-Buckley and Tiffany Brecker. This organization is definitely a team effort from the Executive Committee to all of our dedicated members. Thank you for all of your time, your dedication and your hard work. I could not have done it without you all.
Now, it is time to pass the baton to president-elect Mary Rizzo, who is already hard at work planning next year’s events. Since I cannot seem to stay away, I will remain your secretary…the only chapter title I have never officially held.
Have a great summer!

part in the annual bus trip, and this year we visited Seneca
Falls, NY. The day consisted of a guided tour of the
Women’s Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center

1848, and other famous homes in the area. The group
