A MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD Firstly, I would like to thank all parents and carers for ensuring
your child was in school on time this week. Our attendance this
week has been the best ever at 99% so well done. This week has
been a very challenging week for our children in Year 6 who have
now completed their SATs. They all worked extremely hard and we
are very proud of them. During the next two weeks Year 2 children
will be completing their SATs and with this in mind please can we
ask that you ensure your child is in school on time and again gets
plenty of rest and early nights. I hope you all have a lovely
weekend.
STAFF TRAINING DAY
Please note that we will be having a staff training day on Tuesday 5th
July 2016.
School will be closed for children on this day.

Pleasure Beach on Thursday 23rd June. If your child is interested and not yet submitted their

LUNCH MENU
We now have our new lunch
menu in place. Details are

It is a common recurrence that
children do not have their PE or
swimming kits available in school
for their lessons. PE is part of the
curriculum and we are asking all
parents to ensure pupils have
their kits in school. Thank you.

We would appreciate your co-
operation in ensuring that, if

SCHOOL INFO PLANTING IN NURSERY
The nursery children have been looking after
the plants in the investigation area. They have
lavender, rosemary and mint. They love the
smell of them and are really enjoying watching
them grow. The frog spawn has now hatched
into tadpoles. How long do you think it will
take for them to grow legs?
YEAR 3/4 SH
Year 3/4 SH have been investigating how humans
digest their food using scissors, a funnel, a food
bag, a pair of tights, water and a banana! They used
these items to represent various parts of the human digestive system.
INVESTIGATION
In Science Year 1/2 RS have been learning all
about germination. They conducted an
investigation to find out what plants need to
grow. They discovered that plants need food,
light, warmth and water to grow.
EGGS DELIVERY
Reception had eggs delivered to class. They
are different colours so we don't know yet
what is going to hatch! They researched what
hatched out of eggs on the computer and
wrote down our ideas. The ideas so far are
chicks, crocodiles, alligators, lizards and
snakes! What do you think is going to hatch?
LIFE EDUCATION BUS
The Life Bus came to school! Children in
Year 1 and 2 visited on it Thursday
morning, and they learned lots about the
human body, and how to keep themselves
fit and healthy. They met a giraffe, who
told them all about what foods to eat to
stay healthy and they learned about how
to make a healthy packed lunch. Back at
school, they talked about everything that
they had learnt and used great science
words such as 'calcium', 'energy' and 'protein'.
DENTIST’S
In Science year 3/4 JS have been investigating
which drinks are the best for their teeth. The
children really enjoyed being dentists for the
afternoon!
