sacrificial Anodes MME Group owns a large foundry for the manufacturing of sacrificial anodes for the marine-, offshore-, renewable energy-, and civil engineering industries located in Faversham, UK. With a unique manufacturing process, using different disciplines like insert manufacturing, grit blasting and anode casting on just one dedicated worksite, MME Group is able to comply with the strictest requirements for quality as well as short delivery terms. An efficient certification structure guarantees an accurate and professional order processing.

MME Group’s aluminium sacrificial anodes are suitable for all types of application, and can be used for protecting:

• Harbours • Jetties • Platforms • ship hulls • Ballast tanks • drill rigs • Pipelines • offshore wind structures

cathodic Protection engineering & surveys

Cathodic protection is used to control the corrosion of a wide variety of submerged metallic structures. It has proved to be a cost-effective way to extend the life of a structure and to ensure integrity throughout its operating lifetime. MME Group’s inspectors and engineers are globally recognised for their contributions to further developing cathodic protection. Our qualified and experienced staff assists clients in choosing the correct application of cathodic protection technology.

Products & services for corrosion Prevention

MMe is one of the main suppliers of products and services for corrosion prevention by cathodic protection to offshore oil & Gas companies, Port Authorities, civil engineering companies and offshore Wind foundation Manufacturers.

iccP & Monitoring systems

An Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) systems consist of a combination of anodes and reference cells which are wired to a control box. The reference cells monitor the electrical potential at the hull/underwater structure and send a reading to the control box which automatically raises or lowers the output to the anodes.

The current from the anodes neutralises corrosion cells on the surface of the structure and eliminates differences in potential caused by weld seam material and the proximity of different types or grades of steel.

MME’s expertise is in positioning the reference cells and anodes at the right place to achieve the most effective pattern of current ‘spread’ and avoiding areas of ‘shadowing’. In some cases this requires the use of a Hybrid system: a combination of ICCP and sacrificial anodes. For instance on the outside and inside of submerged pipes.

Monitoring and remote control:

MME Group’s cathodic protection (and marine growth prevention) systems need monitoring, to check the protected structure and the functionality of the system. Depending on the type of system, it can be monitored through an internet connection or by filling out log sheets. The data is subsequently checked by MME engineers.

MME designed software which enables ICCP systems and Hybrid Systems to be controlled and monitored from several locations. Each control box installed on the protected structure is given a unique IP address and the data can be retrieved at any location by using the Internet.

Under the trade name Harbinger MME Group offers lightweight aluminium access equipment. It comprises a range of high quality seawater resistant aluminium (offshore) gangways, accommodation ladders and dedicated access equipment for offshore solutions. Both standard and custom-built equipment is available. The custom-built equipment’s design is often based on the standard system’s and adjusted to the vessel’s and offshore structure’s specific requirements.

The design and manufacturing of complete ladder systems including self-stowing gear, winches and control systems has been done for many years. “

Products and services: • (offshore) Gangways • Bridges • Accommodation ladders • on-site repairs • on-site servicing and testing

Our service engineers are LEEA trained, have offshore certification and NDE operation certificates.

MME Group’s ICCP & Monitoring systems can be used for long-life protection (15 to 35 years) of:

• submersibles • Jack-up rigs • ship Hulls • fPso’s • offshore Wind foundations • Harbour Quays & jetties • coastal Protection

The R&D and manufacturing for the MME ICCP systems and MME Corrosion Monitoring systems is carried out at our headquarters and factory in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Marine / offshore surveys

In the industry, MME’s Marine Services division is a specialist in ultrasonic thickness and close-up surveys. A reliable condition assessment of a ship or offshore structure is important to the owner, but also a commitment to our modern society. With an ever-increasing demand for quality and safety the maritime industry, MME Group has maintained a worldwide leading role for over fifty years.

Additionally to ultrasonic thickness measurements (UTM), the Marine Services division also specializes in:

non-destructive testing

Using Non-Destructive Testing, invisible deviations in materials can be found and evaluated. MME Group is a market leader in material testing in accordance with international standards.

Some of the most common inspection methods in material testing are:

• ultrasonic testing • radiography testing • Magnetic Particle inspection • Penetrant testing • eddy current testing • visual inspection • Phased Array ultrasonic testing (PA) • time-of-flight diffraction (tofd) • corrosion inspection • thermography • Hardness testing • crack depth Measurements

All of the abovementioned methods have unique properties that make specific defect detection possible. The correct inspection method has to be used to achieve the best testing results.

• condition Assessment Programs (cAP/cAs) • Wind turbine Blade inspections • rigging and lifting • Project Management • rope access solutions for utM and ndt (irAtA certified)

• visual coating- and crack inspections • steel repair calculations and surveys • repair supervision • Measurements for owners interest • video inspections survey (cctv)MME Group has been certified by all major classification societies in accordance with the Unified Requirements of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) and ISO 9001 certificate by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).

rope Access services Our Rope Access specialists are fully IRATA certified and work with the best available materials to meet the strictest requirements and safety regulations. This way, almost every remote area can be reached by means of rope access to provide solutions for UTM and NDT. Because no scaffolding or cranes are needed, costs and reporting time remain low.
