A LETTER TO A FRIEND WHO IS GOING TO NEW YORK

Dear Miguel,

It´s ages since I’ve heard from you. I hope you and your family are well.

I am sure you will enjoy New York. As you know I have a great time there.

I must say that at first I had a bad experience because the Airline lost my luggage. You can imagine what a mess!. But anyway, New York is wort-seeing. Landmarks, museums, restaurants of a wide range of tastes, night life…

I recommend you the hotel Central Park, where I stayed, because it is well situated and economical. Firs at all, like a tourist, you must visit Miss Liberty you get it by taking ferry.

The Empire State building you can’t leave to visit since you have a wonderful view of the city. I suggest you the Word Trade Centre Memorial, it is very sad but very informative. I almost cried.

If you like sports, it is convenient to show a New York yankies match. I have no clue about basketball but the atmosphere was great. Other good alternative and cheaper it is bringing your roller and joining the skapers in Central part, it would be an unforgettable experience. You will see!

My last advice, spending a night in the Greenwich Villages’ Jazz Evening. It is amazing if you like Jazz music.

I hope my advices will be useful. Anyway, write me if you need further information.

Have a nice stay in NY

Best wishes

Ester

Dear ...

So you're off to New York! You'll have a great time because there is so much to see and do. I stayed at the Central Park Hotel which is quite cheap and well located. I think it would suit you well. I can give you the phone number if you want.

It's incredible being somewhere with so many tall buildings. The Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building are well worth visiting. The views from them are stunning.

You should try to take in a baseball game, if only for the atmosphere. The rules are still a mystery to me.

Do take your roller blades. Central Park is perfect for it and you will need to get away from the bustle of the streets. New York is incredibly busy.

There's lots to do in the evenings. Broadway has some great shows and there are some excellent jazz clubs in Greenwich Village.

Have a great time and don't forget to send me a postcard!

Love,
