Jeremiah 33:1-6 While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time: “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearch-able things you do not know.’ For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says about the houses in this city: ‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.’” Well, that is what we all want, health and healing. Like Jeremiah, we are each confined in our own homes. But God’s promises stand. He still has a plan. He will still be glorified. On the first Good Friday, Satan thought he had won the war. Jesus was being crucified and buried, the Church (all Jesus followers) was scattered and hiding, afraid to come out. Satan must have been so happy, no more Jesus, no more witnessing, no more church to contend with. BUT… IT WAS ONLY FRIDAY; SUNDAY WAS COMING!!! And how Sunday came and still comes, “Christ is Risen…HE IS RISEN INDEED!” The shout continues and will not stop! It starts in homes, then spreads to towns, whole communities, cities, across states and countries. Christ is yet Risen, and because He lives, we will live also. Shout it, rejoice in it, share it! We may not be able to meet in the sanctuary, but we will meet in our homes. Really it will be like the first Easter, the disciples in their homes afraid, the doors locked, and suddenly Jesus stood among them. Tune in on Facebook or YouTube or our webpage as Ron sings “He’s Alive”, and we proclaim it to be true. Church is different for a while, but Christ isn’t. He is with us, He will guide us, He will inspire us. Share His love every way you can think of, and let people know, Hope does not die, but lives! HAPPY EASTER! Pastor Joe

Message from the
Corporation President
As I am writing this article, we are in our “stay home”
because of the Coronavirus mode of living. Also
known as Covid-19, this virus has affected every-
one’s way of life.
After watching news accounts of a possible
“lockdown order”, I did what every other person did
who saw the news story - I went to the supermarket
to fill my “camp at home” shopping list. How
surprising it was in the store! There were long lines
with employees directing people to the end of the
lines in the aisle. Why are all of these people in such
a panic? When I got to the frozen food section, I
saw no vegetables. Well, there was one pack of okra,
and one pack of an off brand chopped kale. Even the
Brussel sprouts were gone! Boy are people scared!
Over the PA System was an announcement that
quantities of items will be limited. I felt so bad for the
fellow in line in front of me who had two packs of
chicken thighs when the limit was one. I tried to buy
them, but the store had someone who responded to
the register when the cashier called out “chicken” and
carried it away for restocking.
Driving home from the store I realized that none of
this was bothering me. I have often shared how once
I was able to commit to God with those four words –
THY WILL BE DONE - nothing bothers me. I just put
things in His hands. How refreshing it was to practice
what I preached!
When you opened your newsletter to read this article,
you already knew the results of our stay inside
approach to the virus. If we have survived, then we
praise God in prayer. If we did not survive, then we
praise God in person! Whatever happens, we know
God is in charge! It’s a WIN – WIN!
May God continue to bless you and your family…
Anthony L. Clark, Elder
Corporation President
Pastor Joe continues…
So, as we contend with this new form of church, here are a few things to know: We are learning and trying to offer more opportunities to connect digitally. Find Atco Presbyterian on Facebook, and check your emails. We will have more ZOOM meetings and studies during the week, in the mornings and some in the evenings. We plan on doing some Bible Studies and encourage our Koinonia leaders who are comfortable to use it to continue to meet (call me if you need help getting set up). We hope to add some stuff for our youth and for kids as well. KIDS: For Palm Sunday- make a palm branch and send me a picture of you waving it that I can include in our Sunday video. This is a special time to connect with your family again. Nancy, Christina, and I are doing more together, walking, exercising, cooking, watching a movie, playing games. It has been nice that way. Take advantage of this time. But time together can bring out frustration too. That is why I am starting an online class for everyone, LOVE LANGUAGES, by Gary Chapman. It will help you connect with each other more deeply and fill each other’s love tanks. Watch for emails and announcements how to connect.

BUDGET & FINANCE
February general fund donations were about 11% under the budgeted amount at $13,187.50. Year-to-date we are about 2% under the budgeted donation goal. But the good news is that we are operating within our means. With only $12,315.98 in expenses for February, we had a monthly surplus of $871.52. Added to January's surplus, our year-to-date surplus has grown to $3,811.47. Now that the COV-19 virus has raised enough con-cern to suspend Sunday services for the remainder of March, this raises some interesting points. First of all, there will be online services instead, so you can still worship on Sundays and hear Pastor Joe’s message. But how do we “pass the plate” for our offerings online? Since your Budget and Financial Elder has no idea how bitcoin works (and has no desire to learn), this brings us to Plan B. Your weekly pledges can be mailed to the Church at our address: Atco Presbyterian Church 2259 Atco Ave. Atco, NJ 08004 Any mail that Kaye opens that contains a donation will be deposited in the church safe in the manse and collected weekly for deposit in the church’s account. This way you can still make your donation to the church without the risk of showing up in person. And speaking of the Church’s accounts, Church Treasurer Kathy Banes arranged a meeting with BB&T in early March to consolidate all the Church’s various funds and accounts under one Master Account number. Once this is completed, we hope to realize some cost savings on fees, and perhaps take advantage of lower costs in our insurance policies as well as earn incentives for the church with our purchases. In addition, your Budget and Finance Elder will have an overview of every Church account (something he does not have now) which should help the annual budgeting process, as the total funds available to the Church for every mission and contingency can be allocated better. Finally, Church Treasurer Kathy Banes has decided to step down after 30 years in this position. Please join me in thanking her for her many years of dedicated service to our Church. We are now looking
for a replacement to handle the Church’s bank accounts, deposits, and payments. If you are a member of our Church with bookkeeping experience, you may hear our Lord calling your name. It is time to step up and serve the congregation. If you are a member for at least 3 years, and do not have any bookkeeping or payroll experience, Kathy will train you. Your desire to help the Church with its finances and serve the Lord in this way will help you grow into the position. Please contact myself, Kathy Banes, Tony Clark, or Pastor Joe if you are interested or want to learn more. In His Name, John Zahoroiko
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
I hope this letter finds you and your family and friends well and safe. Thank you, Sue Edmondson, for your many years of service as the Elder of Christian Education! You worked diligently in this position and your dedication is greatly appreciated. I am flattered to be asked to rise to this position in our church, and I hope to carry on Sue's great work and potentially expand our program to include a Kids-4-Christ mini-VBS program that will run once per month once initiated. Right now, I am getting familiar with this role, and I ask that you bear with me as I go through my growing pains. In this moment, we are all homeschool-ing our children.
So, what does that mean for Sunday School? In all honesty, that means we will have to work from home to continue our children's spiritual education. I do this by reading the Bible nightly with Noelle. We were reading from the beginning, but with all the anxiety that creeps up from this pandemic, we are now reading the New Testament, and I am careful to skip anything negative. We also pray together nightly. She says her prayers and then I say mine with her. This is a way of sharing our faith and demonstrating how we pray. I believe we need a relaxed form of education that still accomplishes all that we wish while being flexible with the mental and emotional needs of our children. Children think and worry about these things more than we often realize, and it is important to keep that in mind as we progress through this time. On the back page of this newsletter will be some resources if you prefer not to daily read a chapter of the Bible or if your child is too young for this experience.

CHURCH LIFE AND FELLOWSHIP
As I write this we are all in lockdown, just to be safe from the COVID-19. May we remember the Easter story of Passover where they placed the lamb’s blood over their doors so the angel of death would pass over (Exodus 12:13). Praying this virus passes over your door and keeps you well. Hopefully this will be all over sooner than later and we will be able to meet again and celebrate our faith in our Lord and Savior. Saturday, May 9th, Church Life and Fellowship is planning Mexican Themed Game Night. It will be a covered dish dinner with all your favorite Mexican dishes/desserts, followed by lots of fun games hosted by Becky McGuckin. If you were there last year, you know how much fun it was. Saturday, June 13th, Picnic lunch and Spiritual walk through Batso. Bring a boxed lunch, and after eating we will read scripture as we walk through the woods. If you have a favorite you would like to share, please bring it along. As we all know with these crazy times, these might have to be postponed, but let’s all stay positive and fo-cus on the days ahead and coming together again. In HIS love, Karen Erbig 856-287-7724 [email protected]
EVANGELISM
Lost
Have you ever been lost? It is a very frightening experi-ence.
The word lost is used frequently in Scripture. In Luke 15:11-14 we can read the story about the prodigal son, who lost everything by taking a wrong path.
We are lost also when we choose our own path, our own way, apart from God. He wants to celebrate with us that once we were lost, but now we are found. Make a list of friends or family members who are lost. Commit to pray for one of them each day for the next week. To move from lost to found is amazing!
Seek God: Confess to God any destructive behaviors or thoughts and come to Christ.
Forgive: It is important that you remember to forgive others as God forgives.
Reach out: Reach out to someone who is lost and at rock bottom. Let him see the love of the Father in you.
Point them to the loving, restoring arms of God.
Lost does not have to define our lives. A loving God is waiting.
Beverly Thompson, Elder - Outreach & Evangelism
MISSIONS
Spring 2020: Work on the Streets of Atco
Thanks to you, the Atco Presbyterian Church sent $1,320 to our friends in Puerto Rico through the Presbyterian Disaster Committee. God Bless You! We are proud and grateful to announce that the West Jersey Presbytery has granted us $500 toward our “Food Bus” Ministry. Pastor Joe is ready to purchase perish-able fruits and vegetables for our next trip. If you would like to serve, please contact Nancy Fallon. They will give you the “bus” schedule. By the way - FREE Ride!
“Our Great Hour of Sharing” collection is taking place during the Easter holiday. Deadline is April 12th.
Financial donations are always welcome. Kindly mail directly to Atco Presbyterian Church at 2259 Atco Ave. Atco, NJ 08004, or drop envelope in the Manse mailbox. Please write a note on the check’s memo field for “Food Bus” or “One Great Hour of Sharing”. Pastor Joe and Kaye are in and out of the Church office each day.
Ongoing is our “Seeds of Hope” Ministry in Camden (look for specific collections in the future) and our ongoing “Healthy Soles Camden” collection of socks over-
seen by Kristy Thompson. All donations should be marked with “Healthy Soles” and placed on the Manse front porch.
“Kids 4 Christ” - The committee is excited about the “mini VBS” starting soon, on a Friday evening once a month. We will be inviting the children of the community. Please pray how your involvement will be valuable to this mission.
PRAISE THE LORD! VBS 2020 has been tentatively scheduled for Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31,
Page 5
Though their turmoil was the result of years of disobedience to God, the writer of Lamentations cried out to God on behalf of his people (Lamentations 2:11-12). While the author of Psalm 107 also describes a desperate time in Israel's history (during Israel's wanderings in the wilderness, vv.4-5), the focus shifts to an action step to be taken in hard times: "Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble" (V.6). And what a wonderful result: "He delivered them from their distress." In despair? Don't stay silent. Cry out to God. He hears and waits to restore your hope. Though He doesn't always take us out of hard situations, He promises to be with us always. Prayer: Heavenly Father, I'm grateful for Your comforting presence. Amelia Meyer, Stewardship Elder
WORSHIP COMMITTEE
Greetings from the Worship Committee!
While we have been missing our times of worship together, I trust that you have been enjoying the messages that Pastor Joe has continued to post on YouTube and Facebook. We pray that this can be a special time in your homes to join together in worship and rather than feeling like you are stuck at home, that you can recognize that you are safe at home. My prayer for each of us is that we can be reminded to "rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him" from Psalms 37:7, and take advantage of together time with our loved ones and quiet time with God.
We do look forward to resuming our times of corporate worship, and before we know it, it will be time for our summer schedule of our traditional services on Sunday mornings at 10am and our con-temporary services on Thursdays at 7:30. Until then, let’s be mindful and intentional to worship where we are. To enjoy times of intimate worship with our God.
Love in Christ,
Maria Melchiore
Elder of Worship

STEWARDSHIP
“THE PICTURE OF DESPAIR”
Linda Washington “Our Daily Bread” - March 22, 2020 “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.” Psalm 107:6 During the Great Depression in the United States, famed photographer Dorothea Lange snapped a photo of Florence Owens Thompson and her children. This well-known photo-graph, “Migrant Mother”, is the picture of a mother's despair in the aftermath of the failed pea harvest. Lange took it in Nipomo, California, while work-ing for the Farm Security Administration, hoping to make them aware of the needs of the desperate seasonal farm laborers.
The book of Lamentations presents another snapshot of despair - that of Judah in the wake of the destruction of Jerusalem. Before the army of Nebuchadnezzar swept in to destroy the city, the people had suffered from starvation thanks to a siege (2 Kings 24:10-11)

YOUTH GROUP
The youth group met in the winter months and continued our lessons on growing our relationship with Jesus. We also learned a fun new game called Skunk! If you’re looking for something fun to do while you’re stuck at home, learn to play Skunk... it’s a fun dice game played with a group!
We had an event scheduled with other local youth groups on March 13, but it was cancelled due to the Coronavirus. We hope to have it rescheduled soon. Sadly, Youth Sunday is also cancelled due to the coronavirus. We are disappointed that we won’t be able to share our youth’s talents with the congregation this year. We are remaining positive and have been keeping in touch as a group. We plan to get together virtually in the coming weeks just to keep in touch. . Please pray for our youth during this time. A lot of them are missing out on exciting high school times such as the school play, class trips, and more. Pray that they can stay focused on Jesus and grow in their faith during these “different” times. Amy Mallon, Youth Elder
DEACONS’ HELPING HANDS
Happy Spring! Let us celebrate - Hallelujah. Three days to rejoice for an empty tomb. He is Risen, Jesus Lord, The rebirth of the Lord!
Spring is the perfect season for the celebration of Easter. The beauty of the flowers peeking up through the ground…The buds opening up and giving new life to the trees…The green grass…All of the beautiful colors of this wonderful world of God’s creation… Make your life a celebration!!!
Due to the Coronavirus, many of our special projects have been put on hold for a short time. We have been working together to hold our church family safe God will get us through this time

Stay safe.
Keep your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus! Denise Sachs, Moderator
DEACONS’ SPECIAL PROJECTS
I am Peggy Farlow, and I will be taking over as
Deacon of Special Projects. For those of you who do
not know me, I attend the 8:15 service. I am excited to
take on this task. Our next planned project is the
“Choices of the Heart Baby Bottle Drive”. Our
supplies have been ordered, and the plan is to
distribute the bottles at our April 19th services and
return them on Mother’s Day. Based on the
circumstances in our world right now, we can adjust
those dates if needed. Carrie from Choices of the
Heart said she will work with us and is happy that we
are still planning to participate. Stay healthy and keep
a safe distance from others. Hope to see everyone
back in church soon.

KOINONIA
Hello everybody, and I hope you are all remaining safe due to the COVID-19. That is exactly what we are doing with each of the Koinonia Groups. Instead of getting together and meeting at the different houses or the church, we are being diligent to remain physically apart to ensure we are doing our part. However, we are encouraging each other to stay in contact with one another. We are doing this mainly by phone and email. By doing this we are able to share our joys & concerns in order to lift them up daily to our Lord. We long to get back together and hope that it will be sooner than later. In HIM, Jeff Erbig

BLUEBIRDS
WOW!!!! The Bluebirds will be celebrating our 100th years of service to all our Church Families and Community. If you would like to share something (whether it’s a story or photo), we would include it in celebration. Now we are gathering and updating our Shut-in list; each year we deliver flowers to those who may be in need of uplifting, prayer, or a friendly smile. If you know or have anyone in mind please contact Toni Clark (856-768-1486.) Only with your continued sup-port and God’s help can we make this possible. It has been a quiet few months for the Bluebirds, due to illness, but even so, our phones remain busy. The Bluebirds meet the last Thursday each month at l:00 pm. Come join us!! THE BLUEBIRDS
FOOD BUS
There is a song by Blanca with the lyrics, “No, I’m not backing down, No, you can’t count me out. Nothing in this world gonna stop me now. No, I’m not backing down” The Food Bus is “not backing down” either in the face of the Corona virus!! We went out this past Satur-day, having made up 45 grocery bags ahead of time to hand out while practicing social distancing. We were blessed to be able to get enough food and even some toilet paper!! We received some donations collected by the local Boy Scout Troop that will be put to use next month. We have a Girl Scout Troop signed up to help us with April’s outing. We will continue to serve our neighbors in need in West Atco through this crisis however long it lasts!! Please continue to pray for this ministry. If you have any paper grocery bags or unexpired food you would like to donate, they are welcome too. And thank you to all for your continued support. He Lives
By Alfred H. Ackley (1933)
I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today;
I know that he is living, whatever men may say;
I see His hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him He’s always near.
In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair;
I know that He is leading through all the stormy blast,
The day of His appearing will come at last.
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing
Eternal Hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good and kind.
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.
Memorial Day 2004
by Norma Troendle
We honor today our young folks,
Who serve so far away,
Putting their lives in harm’s way
Each and every day.
God bless these men and women
For what they must endure.
Protect each one, be with them
As they keep our land secure.
A thank you is in order
For each and every one.
God bless you all who stood so tall
Defending the freedom for one and all.
THANK YOU. YOU ARE SO SPECIAL.
We are all going through challenging times.
So many people are working hard, facing
dangers, finding ways to help…
WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS!
A special shout out for parents now being
their children’s teachers, and to teachers
still working to give their students what they
need…
A TEACHER
By Amy Troendle, (1999)
A teacher’s there for you to learn, and teach you how to write.
A teacher tries to prevent you from getting in the tiniest fight.
A teacher assigns homework, for only your own good.
So the next day in school, you’ll know everything you should.
A teacher knows everything… or so they say.
They’ll even come to work feeling their sickest way.
A teacher pushes you to get the higher grade.
They’re gracious for the help from their
loving teacher aid.
A teacher greets you hello and they also greet you good-bye.
A teacher makes sure that you always TRY!

CONT’D FROM Page 3: As I was gardening the other day, I remembered the importance of weeding before we begin planting. Weeding usually takes longer than planting, and nurturing and caring for our plants takes a constant and steady pace to make certain they receive all the nutrients and water and sunshine that they need.
We must approach teaching in much the same way. It is important to remove all negativity prior to teaching. If you are yelling at your child and then expect them to be receptive to your teaching—you are having unrealistic expectations. Make sure you transition in a positive manner. As we approach teaching our children, it is incredibly important to ensure that we are meeting our children where they are at and treating them with kindness and compassion as Jesus did. Always remember your example is the greatest teacher. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
You may reach me by phone/text at (484) 802-2701 or email [email protected]. Thank you for this opportunity to serve you. Judy DeAntonellis

KOINONIA GROUPS….Our Koinonia (which means “fellowship”) ministry is designed to help us
grow, no matter where we are in our walk with the Lord. It is in small groups like these where we
can experience tremendous growth in our faith, trust and knowledge of the Lord. Make it a point
this month to earnestly set out to seek the Lord, to grow in the knowledge of His word and deepen
your relationship with Him and with others in our church. Jeremiah 29:13 says: “You will seek me
and find me when you seek me with all your heart”. Below is a list of groups with the location, day
and time they meet.
