A Guide to Online Resources

on Bloom’s Taxonomy

http://ilearntechnology.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/bt.png

A variety of tools to better understand Bloom’s

taxonomy and how technology may play a role.

Suggestions of Web 2.0 tools, iPad apps, Google apps and

more are covered. Links are provided to all sites. Screen

shots show all or components of each site.

Images gathered by Beth Dichter

Bloom’s Digital Web 2.0 https://sites.google.com/site/bloomsdigitalweb20/

This a screen shot (actually two screen shots) of part of the website. Much more

information is available at the link.

Bloom’s Verb Wheel and Bloom’s Web 2.0 Wheel Please note that these images are not interactive (nor are they interactive on the site).

Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy Wheel and Knowledge Dimension http://eductechalogy.org/swfapp/blooms/wheel/engage.swf

Text describes what you might do as you explore this wheel. Identify the Cognition

and Knowledge and that is the center. In the second layer your break down the parts

and describe how they relate to the whole. The third layer provides suggestions of

tools you might want to use. The final layer asks you to look at Procedural Knowledge

(how to do something), Metacognition Knowledge (knowledge of thinking in general

and learning how you think), Factual Knowledge (basic information), and Conceptual

Knowledge (looking at relationships of the parts of the structure and how they relate

to one another).

Utilizing Bloom’s Taxonomy http://www.redwoods.edu/Departments/Distance/Tutorials/BloomsTaxonomy/bloo

mstaxonomy_print.html

This site provides text that describe Bloom’s in more detail, including a section on the

taxonomy of the cognitive domain, the taxonomy of questions, using Bloom’s

taxonomy, and verbs in the cognitive domain.

Kathy Schrock has a variety of ways to view Bloom’s Taxonomy. All are available at http://www.schrockguide.net/bloomin-apps.html. Check her website

out since some are interactive (as in the one for the iPad links to iTunes).

If you go to her website (http://www.schrockguide.net/bloomin-apps.html) there are

hotlinks to apps for this image.
