• How often do I need to register my youth for seminary? The Participation Policy Agreement must only be signed once during a student’s seminary years, usually prior to a student’s first year in the program. For returning seminary students, parents should log in to mySeminary at least annually to update any contact, program site, or graduation year information that may have changed.

• What if I cannot access mySeminary? A hard copy of the Seminary Registration form can be printed, completed, and returned to the local seminary program.

• For released-time seminary, if I complete seminary registration, do I still need to sign up for seminary at the local school? Where released-time seminary is offered, seminary registration does not enroll your student in a seminary class. You will need to ensure that your student has released-time in their local school schedule for them to be enrolled in a seminary class. You can also check with your local seminary program for early morning options.

Contact your local seminary program if you have any additional questions about registration.

RegistrationFor youth who have never been previously enrolled in seminary, a parent or guardian should do the following:

1. Log in to mySeminary.

2. Click the S&I icon.

3. If your child will be in seminary the following year, click Register.

4. Select the correct Program Site (the seminary where your child will be attending next year).

5. Select the correct Graduation Year.

Note: If you do not know the program site or the graduation year, click Other. The contact information for your local program will be displayed in a pink box, and you may contact them to complete the registration process.

6. Click I accept the Participation Policy to review the Participation Policy Agreement. If you have questions about the agreement, please contact your local seminary program.

7. After you have reviewed the agreement, click the box to accept the agreement.

8. Review and update the Guardian Contact Information.

9. Click Register.

If your child is too young or too old to register for seminary or is not planning on participating in seminary the next year, do the following:

1. Click Edit.

2. Select the reason your child will not be attending seminary the next year, and select a Graduation Year.

3. Click Confirm Not Attending.

GraduationTo monitor your child’s progress toward seminary graduation, do the following:

1. Click the graduation symbol under your child’s name. The Seminary Progress page will appear.

2. Click the arrow next to each year the student has been in seminary.

• The screen will show the requirements the student has or has not completed for the year.

• A green checkmark means the requirement is complete. A red X means the requirement is not complete.

• The number of circles beside each seminary year does not matter; if all of the circles have a green checkmark, your student has completed the year.

• Contact the current seminary teacher for answers to questions and for makeup work for your student to finish any seminary completion requirements.

CompletionIf your child is enrolled in a seminary class, you can click on your child’s name to view a page that looks like the one at the beginning of the next page.

• Click the home icon () for an overview of your student’s entire seminary progress. You can click View details in each field for further information under each bar.

• Click the S&I icon ( ) to access the Registration page. See the “Registration” section earlier in this document.

• Click the current term icon () to view your student’s attendance, reading, and assessment scores. Note: If a seminary program does not add reading assignments or day-to-day lessons to the WISE system, this information will not appear on mySeminary.

• Click the graduation icon ( ) to view your student’s progress toward seminary graduation. Click on each year to see details of the year’s attendance, reading, and assessment scores.

• Click the information icon () to update your contact information and to find contact information for the seminary program, the program administrator, and the teacher.

Released-Time AbsencesWhen a student is absent from seminary, it will be recorded as one of the following:

• School-excused: Absence for school activities that are verified by school administration.

• Parent-excused: Absence for illness, doctor’s appointments, family needs, and so on that are communicated by the student’s parent or guardian.

• Unexcused: Absence that is not excused by the school or the student’s parent or guardian.

If a student’s attendance falls below 75 percent even with excused absences, the student is required to make up the work until he or she has passed the 75 percent attendance threshold.

Usually through text or email, parents will be notified of all absences, except for school-excused absences. Parents may excuse absences using mySeminary by doing the following:

1. After selecting your child’s name, click Attendance in the Current Term Grades section.

2. Click the box next to Excused next to the date the student was absent.

3. Parents can also click the blue arrow to view the makeup assignment that is required of the student.

Note: Makeup assignments will only appear if the seminary program or teacher has put them in the WISE system.
