A FREE TICKET TO CAREER SUCCESS!
The cost of travelling to interviews can be an added stress when looking for work or training. Birmingham CareersService is one of a number of organisations who are working together through Youth Promise Plus* to support youngpeople onto their chosen career pathway.
If you are aged 1619 (up to 25 with a learning difficulty or disability) we can supply you with a travel day ticket which willgive you free travel within the West Midlands Travel Network on the day of an interview which has been arranged for aplace in education, employment or training.
Once you have found the right apprenticeship, training or job we can apply for a free four week travel pass which willallow you to travel to your new job or training. You can also use this pass if you make other journeys such as catchingup with friends.
We can also provide free travel information and journey planning.
To receive free help with travel costs through Birmingham Careers Service you must:
Live in Birmingham
Be supported in your search for education, employment or training by Birmingham Careers Service (or anotherYEI registered partner)
Register for the Youth Promise Plus (YEI project) – This will involve a Personal Adviser completing aregistration form with you
Provide us with proof of your ID. Just bring along a copy of your passport, birth certificate or an officialdocument containing your National Insurance number, such as the original issuing letter.

*Birmingham and Solihull Youth Promise Plus is a flagship project funded under the European Commission ESIF programme Youth EmploymentInitiative (YEI) arrangements. The project is overseen by a partnership steering group endorsed by the Greater Birmingham & Solihull LocalEnterprise Partnership (GBSLEP). Birmingham City Council is acting as lead accountable body for the project.
