    Converter Module UV-14 Version : 001

    Description

    The converter module UV-14 is for the connection the transmitter families MDS and NFD on a PLC.

    The module converts the voltages, coming from the transmitter, in a pulse frequency proportional to the flow. The output frequency is set to 50 kHz at 10 m/sec..Additional to the pulse output a signal Zero point O.K. is available.

    For controlling the functions of the converter card a signal from the status of the valve and a signal for starting the calibration of zero point is necessary.

    A dynamic pulse shut off function is installed, which is controlled from the status signal of the valve.

    The zero point setting can be activated with a external input.

    During the batch is running it is possible to control the zero point which was set in this time the valve was opening.

    The converter module is for installation on a DIN Rail.

    Function of In- and Outputs

    Outputs

    Volume pulses

    The output frequency is 50 kHz at 100 % Full scale and the pulse length is 10s.

    A pulse standardizing is not implemented. For the calculation of the preset value the k-factor must be selected depending of the diameter of the Flowmeter.

    Example:

    Diameter DN 15K-Factor for DN15 28293 pulses/LBatch quantity 100mL

    Preset for counter = 0,1L x 28293 pulses / L = 2829 pulses

    Zero point O.K.

    The flow at the closed valve is always measured, after the flow have reached the half value of the flow rate in the time of closing the valve. If valve opens, the status of the last measuring is saved.

    Output " HIGH

    The output goes high, if the flow is < 1 % of full scale before the valve opens.

    Output " LOW

    The output goes low, if the flow is > 1 % of full scale before the valve opens.

    The output is saved during the valve is open ( Input valve open/ closed " LOW ). It is therefore possible, to control the zero point during the valve is open and start- if the zero point is wrong- a zero point setting at the next dosing cycle.

    If the input is LOW , then the pulse output is closed if :

    - the flow goes constant or- the flow have a oscillation

    Zero Point

    With the input Zero Point the zero point setting can be started.

    The adjustment of the Zero Point is always automatically.

    Input HIGH Zero Point setting activated, LED Zero Point is ONInput LOW Zero Point setting deactivated, LED Zero Point is OFF

    Zero Point setting is only possible if

    - The dosing valve is closed and- The pulse output is switched off.

    If the Zero point is calibrated correctly, the LED FLOW must be off. The PLC can also control the output Zero Point O.K. .

    Fuse for Power Supply 24 VAC for transmitter

    To protect the Converter Module a fuse between the Power Supply 24 VAC and the wires red / blue is installed.The Fuse is soldered on the printed circuit. The value of this fuse is 630 mA Time Lag T.

    DisplayIn front of the module 4 LED are installed24VDC LED is ON, if 24VDC is connected on terminal connectors 6 and 1224VAC LED is ON, if 24VAC is connected on terminal connector 10 and 11. The LED can anyway be

    OFF if the internal Fuse is damaged.FLOW LED is ON, if the flow is > 0,5% of full scaleZEROPOINT LED is ON, if the calibration of the Zero Point is active.
