President’s Message

Nutmeg Chapter Visit us online at www.abwanutmeg.org

What a great meeting we had in October. Attendance and participation was at an all-time high. Celebrating ABWA’s 65th Anniversary, sharing its history as well as that of the Nutmeg Chapter was

quite informative. It is always nice to be appreciated and recognized. One of the things ABWA National and the Nutmeg Chapter is proud of is recognizing its members. We had a chance to honor our Super 18—members who have had 5+ years in ABWA and the Nutmeg Chapter. It was delightful to honor members whose membership contains double digits and who have been instrumental in enabling our

chapter to thrive.

We did have an opportunity to express our appreciation for our new members, those with less than five years and those who are a part of generation X and Y. They bring new energy, new views and are tech

savvy; all these things enhance the Nutmeg Chapter.

The Line Dancing fundraiser was well attended and everyone present had a really good time. Kudos go to Barbara Houle and her committee: Jan Baltrush, Betsy Conway, Jorge Dias, Linda Hubina,

Lynne Lund and Nicole Maggio. Thanks go out to everyone who supported this event.

Looking ahead please support our next fundraiser—Bus Trip to Mohegan Sun Casino on November 15th. Please contact Jorge Dias for more information.

Quorum needed at the November 3rd Dinner Meeting. We are looking for members to support our scholarship. The Nutmeg Chapter seeks your vote to contribute $2,000. plus $100. for the Impact Scholarship funded. You may obtain information about SBMEF (through which this scholarship is

available) on WIN in the ABWA National Library.

Nutmeg Chapter 2014-2015 Executive Board

The Mission of the American

Business Women’s

Association is to bring

together businesswomen of

diverse occupations and to

provide opportunities for

them to help themselves and

others grow personally and

professionally through

leadership, education,

networking support, and

national recognition.

New Member Spotlight

My business background is in customer service, sales, marketing, and business development. I earned my

Bachelor's in Organizational Leadership in 2010. Over the years I have sold Avon, Tupperware, and Real

Estate. I worked as a Business Development Manager for Neoperl, a manufacturing company in Waterbury

and currently work during the day as a Commercial Inside Sales Representative for Carrier Enterprise.

I am in the process of transitioning from working full time secularly to full time in the Holistic Health industry.

My vision is to teach and share Healing Touch at schools, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, wellness centers,

and surgery centers across the state, the country, and around the world!

Eugenia Magill, BS, HTCP, CLYL

Eugenia is a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner,

Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, and Certified

AFAA Group Exercise Instructor. Her practice is

Caring for You, located in Naugatuck, CT. Her

website is www.caringforyouhealingctr.com Her

goal is to open a Healing Center that will nourish

your mind, body, and soul.

Helping people to heal is my passion. From the

day I learned that Reiki was the channeling of

God’s energy in order to provide healing to

another person I knew my prayers had been

answered. I continued my quest to learn more

about energy medicine by reading books by

Donna Eden, Barbara Brennan, and Dorothea

Hover-Kramer and attending multiple workshops

on different energy medicine programs.

Eventually I learned about Healing Touch and

decided to become a certified practitioner.

Providing someone with the compassionate care

they require when they are ill, stressed, in pain,

or just wanting to relax, is a wonderful

opportunity and I truly love being able to assist

people with their healing process.

Cindy Donaldson

President, Red Barn Consulting, LLC Cindy is a marketing and sales strategist with over 25 years in the

industry. Considered an innovator and thought leader on personal and company branding, Cindy’s strength is creating “buzz” and excitement for industries that traditionally didn’t have to do outbound marketing & sales

such as Insurance, Health Care, and Municipalities.

Cindy was a top award winning salesperson for the Sir Speedy Printing franchise; beginning her career in North Carolina and then transferring to Connecticut. She later moved on to start Brookhollow Marketing, working with small to mid-sized companies. In 2008, one of her clients, Founders

Insurance Group, asked Cindy to become their in-house Director of Marketing & Sales, she held that position until 2013. During her tenure, she gained national recognition for Founders’ social media marketing,

branding & sales efforts. Cindy quickly became a go-to in the insurance industry for marketing and sales strategy and was asked to sit on several Carrier marketing think tanks and is a member of the Agents Council for Technology. She holds her CT & NY Property and Casualty Insurance

Producers License.

In 2013, the Entrepreneurial bug bit once again and Cindy launched Red Barn Consulting – a Marketing & Sales Strategy firm and in January of 2014 launched Agency University, LLC a training company for independent insurance agencies nationwide.
