Announcements Lord Jesus, open to us the scriptures; make our hearts burn within us while you speak.

Opening Hymn (CP #312) “Sing a New Song”

Sing a new Song unto the Lord Let your song be sung From mountains high

Sing a new song unto the Lord Singing alleluia

Yahweh’s people dance for joy Oh come before the Lord

And play for Him with glad tambourines And let your trumpet sound

Refrain

Rise O children from your sleep Your Saviour now has come

He has turned your sorrow to joy And filled your soul with song

Refrain

The Collect of the Day Celebrant Let us pray. O God, your Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread. Open the eyes of our faith, that we may see him in his redeeming work, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Gloria

All Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth.

Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory.

Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world have mercy on us; you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer.

For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Proclamation of the Word

Psalm 4 1 Answer me when I call, O God, defender of my cause; * you set me free when I am hard-pressed; have mercy on me and hear my prayer. 2 “You mortals, how long will you dishonour my glory; * how long will you worship dumb idols and run after false gods?” 3 Know that the Lord does wonders for the faithful; * when I call upon the Lord, he will hear me. 4 Tremble, then, and do not sin; * speak to your heart in silence upon your bed. 5 Offer the appointed sacrifices * and put your trust in the Lord. 6 Many are saying, “Oh, that we might see better times!” * Lift up the light of your countenance upon us, O Lord. 7 You have put gladness in my heart, * more than when grain and wine and oil increase. 8 I lie down in peace; at once I fall asleep; * for only you, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Gradual Hymn, (CP #614) “Forgive Our Sins”

Forgive our sins as we forgive You taught us, Lord, to pray

But you alone can grant us grace To live the words we say

The Prayers of the People

Confession

As we prepare to meet the living Christ at the Table, let us humbly confess our sins.

All Most merciful God, you are always true to us in love and yet we so often fall short of that love. We are truly sorry for our faithlessness to you and to one another, for our forgetting of the poor and the broken, for our failure to cherish creation. Give us life, O God, to enable us to change ourselves and the world, that we may walk in your way and glory in your name. We ask this in the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

6

Almighty God have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and keep you in eternal life; though Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Peace

Celebrant The peace of the Lord be always with you. All And also with you.

Eucharistic Prayer #4 Celebrant The Lord be with you. All And also with you. Celebrant Lift up your hearts. All We lift them to the Lord. Celebrant Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. All It is right to give our thanks and praise. Celebrant It is right to give you thanks and praise, O Lord, our God, sustainer of the universe, you are worthy of glory and praise. All Glory to you for ever and ever. Celebrant At your command all things came to be: the vast expanse of interstellar space, galaxies, suns, the planets in their courses, and this fragile earth, our island home; by your will they were created and have their being. All Glory to you for ever and ever. Celebrant From the primal elements you brought forth the human race, and blessed us with memory, reason, and skill; you made us the stewards of creation. All Glory to you for ever and ever. Celebrant But we turn against you, and betray your trust; and we turn against one another. Again and again you call us to return. Through the prophets and sages you reveal your righteous law. In the fullness of time you sent your Son, born of a woman, to be our Saviour. He was wounded for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities. By his death he opened to us the way of freedom and peace. All Glory to you for ever and ever.

7

Celebrant Therefore we praise you, joining with the heavenly chorus, with prophets, apostles, and martyrs, and with those in every generation who have looked to you in hope, to proclaim with them your glory, in their unending hymn,

All Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes, in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Hosanna in the highest.

Celebrant Blessed are you, Lord our God, for sending us Jesus, the Christ, who on the night he was handed over to suffering and death, took bread, said the blessing, broke the bread, gave it to his friends, and said, “Take this, and eat it: this is my body which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

In the same way, after supper, he took the cup of wine; he gave you thanks, and said, “Drink this, all of you: this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.” All Glory to you for ever and ever.

Celebrant Gracious God, we recall the death of your Son Jesus Christ, we proclaim his resurrection and ascension, and we look with expectation for his coming as Lord of all the nations. We who have been redeemed by him, and made a new people by water and the Spirit, now bring you these gifts. Send your Holy Spirit upon us and upon this offering of your Church, that we who eat and drink at this holy table may share the divine life of Christ our Lord. All Glory to you for ever and ever.

8

Celebrant Pour out your Spirit upon the whole earth and make it your new creation. Gather your Church together from the ends of the earth into your kingdom, where peace and justice are revealed, that we, with all your people, of every language, race, and nation, may share the banquet you have promised; through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ, all honour and glory are yours, creator of all. All Glory to you for ever and ever. Amen. The Lord’s Prayer Celebrant And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to sing, All Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. Breaking of Bread #8

Celebrant Lord, we died with you on the cross. All Now we are raised to new life. Celebrant We were buried in your tomb. All Now we share in your resurrection. Celebrant Live in us, that we may live in you.

Invitation

The gifts of God for the people of God. All Thanks be to God.

9

Prayer After Communion

Author of life divine, in the breaking of bread we know the risen Lord. Feed us always in these mysteries that we may show your glory to all the world. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Celebrant Glory to God, All whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. Amen.

Blessing and Dismissal

Sending Hymn, (CP #393) “Immortal, Invisible, God”

Immortal, invisible, God only wise, in light inaccessible hid from our eyes,

most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, almighty, victorious, thy great Name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might; thy justice like mountains high soaring above

thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

Great Source of all glory and wisdom and light, thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;

all laud we would render: O help us to see 'tis only the splendor of light hideth thee.

Go Now in Peace

Go now in peace, never be afraid God will go with you each hour of every day Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true Know he will guide you in all you do Go now in love and show you believe Reach out to others so all the world can see God will be there around us and above Go now in peace, in faith and in love

Just ring the doorbell and someone will receive your offering while maintaining physical distancing. You can choose the amount and how frequently your offering is automatically deducted from your account. Confidentiality assured. Please drop off any offering using the office door mail slot.

OUR PLACE - TENANT STARTER KITS - With ongoing COVID-related restrictions in place, Our Place continues to provide nurturing, hopeful support to people experiencing homelessness and poverty in our region.

We have also stepped up to provide housing solutions for hundreds and now we manage more than eight shelter locations in our community. This spring Our Place Society, together with Victoria Cool Aid Society have formed a unique partnership that will allow us to more effectively support folks who are moving from basic shelters in to more permanent housing.

You and your congregation can make a huge difference in helping those who are transitioning from shelters and are not equipped with the basic items we all take for granted; such as essential toiletries, dishes and bedding (please see the kit lit checklist, next 2 pages). Can you please help our neighbours in need as they get started on their journey to independence? As a community project, your congregation is asked to work with us to gather full Tenant Starter Kits. Once completed, the kits would be picked up and brought directly to those who need them. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Janet Davies at [email protected] or 250-940-5060.
