1. Cut out pattern – either leaf-shaped or square from cardboard or paper – then trace onto leather for cutting. Make sure you determine if it is to be left or right-handed and cut the leather accordingly. The rough dimensions are shown in the figure below. Make the smaller ‘pocket’ piece slightly overlap the bottom piece.

2. Make the leg strap from anything you wish – cut a piece from a larger piece of leather, use an old belt or bridle rein. Attach a buckle on one end, and punch holes on the other. Make sure to make it long enough to go around the rider’s leg.

3. Cut small pieces of leather wide enough to hold the leg strap, and punch holes in ends. Make sure to angle them correctly for either right or left-handed quiver! Rivet belt loops to the back piece of the quiver.

4. Rivet the front and back panels together on the corners for the square quiver, and at the tip and the left and right side for the leaf quiver (disregard the stitching in the picture!).

5. Mark out the holes for the stitching in 1 cm intervals, using a pencil or whatever you can see on the leather, measuring out from the center of the corner rivets.

6. Punch holes for the stitching at the marked locations. Try to keep the outside pocket slightly overlapping the bottom piece. When stitched together, this wraps around and keeps the outer pocket a bit tighter.

7. Stitch with artificial rawhide along the sides, using one continuous piece all the way around. Stitch from the bottom, up and then loop back around underneath to secure. Start with a small square knot, and a dab of super glue to keep it in place. Tie off at the end as shown in the second picture, by tucking the end back underneath itself.

8. Punch holes along top for elastic shock cord to hold arrows. Weave shock cord in and out of holes to create loops for the arrows. Put arrows in quiver and pull shock cord snug, but not too tight. Stitch a couple dividers in the quiver, between the second and third arrows, and between the fourth and fifth arrows, to keep arrows straight. Punch two holes for the divider, and loop artificial sinew around, tie with a square knot and secure with super glue. Rivet on a belt loop on the top corner. Slide the leg strap into the loops on the back.
