Ministry and Mission update�

My dear friends in Christ,�

�

I hope that you are enduring this

pandemic shutdown well. Here at

St. Mary’s both Fr. Anthony and I

are doing well. We are both in good

health and have been ministering to

people’s needs as we can. Our

YouTube apostolate has been keep-

ing us busy. Also, we have had a

number of small funerals recently

both at the graveside and at the fu-

neral home. May our faithful de-

parted rest in peace and hopefully

we will be able to offer memorial

Masses for them soon. �

�

As of this writing we are eagerly

awaiting updated guidelines from

the Diocese of Joliet on how we can

minister to our people. You may

know that the Governor of Illinois

included some religious freedom in

the May extension of his Stay at

Home Executive Order. Leadership

at the Diocese is working on a safe

plan for gradually re�opening our

Churches. Please pray for those de-

cision makers to be guided by the

Holy Spirit.�

Mis queridos amigos en Cristo:�

Espero que se encuentren aguantando

esta pandemia en aislamiento. Aquí en

Santa María, tanto el Padre Anthony �

como yo estamos bien. Los dos en buena

salud y ministrando las necesidades de la

gente, tanto como nos es posible. Nuestro

apostolado en YouTube nos ha manteni-

do ocupados. También, hemos tenido�

algunos servicios funerarios en pequeño

recientemente, en la casa funeraria y en

el cementerio. Que todos nuestros fieles

que se han ido a la Casa del Señor �

y descansen en paz mientras que �

podamos ofrecer Misas Memoriales por

ellos pronto.�

�

Al momento de escribirles, estamos espe-

rando con ansias la actualización de la

Diócesis de Joliet en cuanto a la forma en

que podamos ministeriar a nuestra gente.

Probablemente ustedes ya sepan que el

Gobernador del Estado de Illinois inclu-

yó cierta libertad religiosa en la exten-

sión de la orden ejecutiva de quedarse

en casa por el resto del mes de mayo. Los

lideres de la Diócesis están trabajando en

un plan seguro para gradualmente re�

abrir nuestras Iglesias. Por favor oren

por las personas encargadas de la toma

de decisiones para que el Espíritu Santo

los guíe.�

classes before having their child baptized. Please call the

Parish Center to register for classes prior to the birth of your

child. When choosing godparents, please keep in mind that

godparents are required to be practicing Catholics who have

received the sacraments of Baptism, the Eucharist, and

Confirmation and are at least 16 years of age.
