We would like to welcome you to another issue of our “ExpertStrategies in Endoscopy, Gastroenterology and Liver Disorders”program to be held on March 10, 2018. Based on feedback received from several of you who have attended this program in the past, we have kept our focus on the importanthands-on sessions dealing with important technological advances in endoscopy, as well as having you learn from the “Masters in Endoscopy.”

We also feature a post-graduate course format of brief,to-the-point, state-of-the-art lectures by international and national experts in the field of inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology and endoscopy. Our state-of-the-art course willinclude a full day of clinically relevant topics that will beextremely useful as we strive to update you in the everchanging field of medicine.

OVERVIEWThe program’s goal is to improve participants’ competence andpractice performance by providing cutting edge information onendoscopy, gastroenterology and liver diseases through state of the art lectures and hands on endoscopy sessions taught by aninternational faculty of experts in the field.

The hands on session in the afternoon is by far the most needed educational session based on performance gap analysis. This popular session includes demonstration of the following techniques, with opportunities for participants to practice techniques learned: clipping, stenting, closing perforations, cryotherapy, RFA, hemostasis,cauterization, argon gas, EMR, ESD, ablation, snare techniques,injection needles, use of HD endoscopes, etc.

We also plan to have a nurses and GI fellows hands on session for them to gain familiarity with various endoscopic tools and techniques. The morning educational session presentations will educateparticipants on common and controversial topics in endoscopy,gastrointestinal and liver diseases in preparation for afternoonhands-on sessions. Morning sessions will include interactive audience polling and Q&A sessions where participants can receive expert feedback.

TARGET AUDIENCEThis is a conference targeted towards clinical gastroenterologists,endoscopists, hepatologists, advanced practice registered nurses, nurses and other health care professionals.

OBJECTIVESAt the completion of this symposium, participants should be able to:

• Practice acquired skills using endoscopic diagnostic tools for proper placement of endoluminal stents, mucosal ablation, hemostasis, endoscopic resection and advanced techniques to improve accuracy in making diagnoses, through hands-on workshops.

• Use appropriate therapy for patients with viral hepatitis, and colon cancer screening and surveillance, utilizing the most recent guidelines to improve patient outcomes.

• Formulate an evidence-based approach to inflammatory bowel disease, GERD and functional bowel management by utilizing new therapies.

• Create and implement patient education tools utilizing new evidence based approaches to patients experiencing gastrointestinal and hepatic disease processes.

• Demonstrate successful techniques for assisting the physician with endoscopic procedures.
