• I´d like to go to Glendalough, there are monastic ruins, and beautiful lakes, what do you think?

• It´s a great idea.We can take some food away and go for a walk.

• All right, What do you think if we go to the bus station and ask for the timetables?

• Good morning! Could you tell us the timetables of the buses to Glendalough?

• There´re buses from 9am. To 20:00 pm.

tomorrow at ten o´clock and then we can visit Kilkenny.

information office over there.

At the tourist office

• Good morning!• Good morning!• We would like to visit this

area. Could we get a guide, please?

• Sure! My friend can go with you and show you the landscape. His name is O´Connor.

They pass by Lower Lake.

They see a badger, a squirrel, an owl, and a frog on their way.

They pass by stream and a beautiful waterfall.

O´Connor shows them some monuments.

• What´s that?• It´s a cathedral. It´s

the largest and most imposing building on Glendalough.That tower over there is called “round tower”, which was built with defensive purposes.

They move towards Upper Lake and pass by Reefert Church, a small cemetery.

They are surprised

• There are a lot of shamrocks on the field.

• Do you know the story about the shamrocks?

• No !• The Irish have considered

shamrocks as good luck symbols. It has become the national symbol of Irland, because of the legend that St. Patrick used it to illustrate the doctrine of the Trinity, the existence of the three in one.

O’Connor talks about Kilkenny.

• Kilkenny is a beautiful medieval city and in August there is a beautiful Art Festival.

You can visit the castle and the black abbey, this church is one of the few medieval churches and belongs to a Franciscan friar.

They visited Kilkenny and then they went to Cork airport to fly to Galicia.
