About 80 percent of mobile communication now takes place in buildings. The central chal-

lenges existing here for mobile communications providers and building owners are optimal

signal qualities within buildings and the flexible provision of transmission capacity oriented to

requirements. This in turn demands a new generation of intelligent, active indoor systems.

With the K-BOW system, Kathrein has developed an innovative solution that precisely complies

with these needs and sets new standards. The system guarantees optimum signal quality in all

building sections and flexibly and dynamically provides capacities precisely where momentarily

needed. Mobile communications providers and building owners can therefore optimally fulfil

customer demands in buildings around the clock, and also rapidly respond to changes in

K-BOW is simply designed and installed. The system masters all common mobile telecom-

Modern fibre-optic and coaxial networks transmit large data volumes and allow for fast Internet

access, video-on-demand, telephony as well as TV and radio reception.

The most important products offered by us in the broadband sector are optical transmissi-

on systems, coaxial amplifiers and data transmission systems compliant with the DOCSIS

standard. Optical systems make it possible to transmit data via optical fibre across great

distances. Coaxial amplifiers support signal transmission via coaxial cable right into buildings.

DOCSIS systems allow for data transfer rates of 1 gigabit per second and greater in optical
