READ Taking time to read Scripture each day is critical to spiritual health and development. Just as your body needs nourishment every day, your soul needs to be fed and sustained. Reading the Bible starts with an open heart, an open mind, and a plan. Choose a translation that is easy for you to understand, such as the New International Version or the New Living Translation. Create a rhythm by reading the Bible at the same time each day. Mornings are great, but a break at work, right before your workout, or even just as your headed to bed might fit your schedule best. Think passages, not verses. You’re engaging in a beautiful, rich, and layered text, not doing homework. The reading plan is a place to start, not an assignment to finish. Many people find regular Bible reading intimidating. Don’t. It’s God’s Word to you, and He will help you understand. REFLECT Throughout the Bible, the word “meditate” is intertwined with reading Scripture. Meditate means to consider and to focus; to think about what you’re reading. Developing a habit of journaling along with reading will strengthen and enrich your time in Scripture. Use a notebook or journal when you read the Bible. Have a plan. One method is to follow the acronym SOAP, Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Others may bullet point their reflections. Whatever you do, be consistent and seek ways to live out what you are reading. Create moments to reflect with your spiritual community. Whether friends, family, or small group, share what you believe God is saying to you. Reflection and meditation cause us to pause, consider what God is saying to us, and to pray for His guidance. After seasons of reflection and journaling, you will begin to see how God guides and shepherds you each day. Daily moments reading and reflecting on the Bible are vital to our spiritual health. For the next 90 days, you will walk through the earliest moments of the Christian story. We start in James, one of the first letters written to guide people in how to walk in righteous beliefs and behaviors. Next you’ll go to Romans, Paul’s powerful and rich explanation of how the Gospel of Grace works. From there, you will read John’s Gospel, his story of redemption from Creation to the Cross. You’ll end your journey in Acts, as you read how the earliest believers lived out their newfound mission. Take time each day, whether 3 minutes or 30 minutes, read the passages and reflect in your journal and in prayer what you believe God is saying to you. 90 Day Prayer Challenge

READTaking time to read Scripture each day is critical to spiritual health and development. Just as your body needs nourishment every day, your soul needs to be fed and sustained. Reading the Bible starts with an open heart, an open mind, and a plan.

• Choose a translation that is easy for you to understand, such as the New International Version or the New Living Translation.

• Create a rhythm by reading the Bible at the same time each day. Mornings are great, but a break at work, right before your workout, or even just as your headed to bed might fit your schedule best.

• Think passages, not verses. You’re engaging in a beautiful, rich, and layered text, not doing homework. The reading plan is a place to start, not an assignment to finish.

Many people find regular Bible reading intimidating. Don’t. It’s God’s Word to you, and He will help you understand.

REFLECTThroughout the Bible, the word “meditate” is intertwined with reading Scripture. Meditate means to consider and to focus; to think about what you’re reading. Developing a habit of journaling along with reading will strengthen and enrich your time in Scripture.

• Use a notebook or journal when you read the Bible. • Have a plan. One method is to follow the acronym

SOAP, Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Others may bullet point their reflections. Whatever you do, be consistent and seek ways to live out what you are reading.

• Create moments to reflect with your spiritual community. Whether friends, family, or small group, share what you believe God is saying to you.

Reflection and meditation cause us to pause, consider what God is saying to us, and to pray for His guidance. After seasons of reflection and journaling, you will begin to see how God guides and shepherds you each day.

Daily moments reading and reflecting on the Bible are vital

to our spiritual health. For the next 90 days, you will walk

through the earliest moments of the Christian story. We start

in James, one of the first letters written to guide people in

how to walk in righteous beliefs and behaviors. Next you’ll

go to Romans, Paul’s powerful and rich explanation of how

the Gospel of Grace works. From there, you will read John’s

Gospel, his story of redemption from Creation to the Cross.

You’ll end your journey in Acts, as you read how the earliest

believers lived out their newfound mission.

Take time each day, whether 3 minutes or 30

minutes, read the passages and reflect in your

journal and in prayer what you believe God

is saying to you.
