The Cloud 9 Ranch Restaurant Staff went all out over Memorial Day weekend. In conjunction with the Casino Night that was held, the Ranch restaurant prepared smoked ribs as the main course for the evenings activities. The Restaurant Manager, Rick Johnson, did an excellent job making sure the cookout went excellent. Not only was the food great, the music and atmosphere made the evening perfect.

The Restaurant Staff did a great job not only preparing the food but serving as well. Not enough can be said about the amount of time and energy that Rick and his staff put into making Ca-sino Night a huge success. The proceeds from the rib dinner and pulled pork sandwiches went to the Cloud 9 Ranch Volun-teer Fire Department.

Unlike most Fire Departments, Cloud 9 Ranch Fire Department does not have a fire department auxiliary to depend on for fundraising purposes. Because of this, the Ranch Fire Depart-ment must depend on Ranch Members to help support the funding of the Ranch Fire Department.

Special Thanks to Mike and Susie and Sarah Amburgy for help-ing to serve drinks. Also Tracy Reynolds who helped and to Wayne Cormier who provided the great music.

“Thank You” to all the Members who stopped by for Ribs and supported the Ranch Volunteer Fire Department.

Ranch Rider Poker Run

The Sunday Poker run was held on a beautiful sunny day at the Ranch. This poker run was one of the largest poker runs held in recent years, with around 300 ATV’s and side by sides. The Ranch Riders Club laid out a safe family route with part of the course in the Pet Cemetery area of the Ranch and the rest out front. Many of the RRC members had been out working on these trails along with some of the other trails getting them in riding condition after the storms in the past sev-eral weeks.

The Activities Committee served great food at the T-Top all day and had several drawings for prizes after the poker run.

The top five hands received cash with first place winning $691.00. All top five places were offered cash or a nice ATV soft luggage box from Mega Motor Sports of West Plains.

Thank you Kadye Ward for all your effort in organizing this entire event. Without your dedication and efforts, we would not have had the awesome results in securing volun-teers, having special interest events throughout the night, increasing our player atten-dance and increasing our financial results.

Now...on to the great news...

We netted $1,319.00 in profit for the gaming portion of the event. $980.00 (98 packs) of Cruiser cash were sold (increase of 16 from Labor Day 2010), and $224.00 was raised from the "mystery drawing", and $105.00 from the 50/50 raffle. Thank you Becky Willis and Robin Eaton for circulating through the crowd and selling tickets for both these newly established events.

The jail raised $216.00 and the profit from food and drink sales (food was catered by the Cloud 9 Outfitters) generated over $500.00. These combined amounts will be pre-sented to the Cloud 9 Volunteer Fire Department.

This year we added several more gaming tables - thank you to the Ranch employees and others who were our new dealers. Four tables were set up in the smoking room of the Clubhouse and they were full the entire night. We also added Hi-Lo in the main room, along with Roulette, Texas Hold'em, Blackjack, Chuck-a-Luck, and the Color Wheel. Horse races were held outside on the patio. The food was also served outside on the patio, which worked out very well.

Over 100 auction items, with a retail value of approximately $1,800.00, were donated by Cruisers and the auction was a big success.

Below are some pictures of the event - all other Cruisers who were there and took pic-tures, please feel free to post them for all to see. I will also be posting a few videos on Facebook within the next few days.

Labor Day weekend will be here before we know it, and we'll be planning our 3rd ca-sino night throughout the coming weeks.

Thanks to all the Cloud 9 Cruiser group who answered the call to help the Melody Lane Camp Host with the assembly of the new playground equipment over the holiday weekend. Bill Hall, Bill Roesch, Ed Horton, and Bob Kohlmiller worked for several days with Rick Johnston on this project.
