Dear SVVSD Parents and Guardians:

The Colorado Department of Education has identified Wednesday, Oct. 1

as the official statewide October Count Day for the 2014-2015 school year.

To comply with this state mandate and ensure maximum attendance, St.

Vrain Valley Schools will have a full day of school with a normal

start time on Wednesday, Oct. 1st in place of the previously sched-

uled late start time.

Please make every effort to have your student arrive at the normal time

on Wednesday, Oct.1. Your assistance in this important state re-quirement is greatly appreciated as state funding for St. Vrain

schools is directly impacted by the October 1 attendance numbers.

Thank you again for your ongoing support for our students and

school.

If you feel you might qualify for free or reduced lunch

for your student, please go to the St. Vrain Valley School

District website.

Click on parents and students

Click school menus - this will take you to the Nutrition Services

site

Click on their home page and you will see meal application

Fill out and when you send it you should get results quickly!

**Returning students - Free and reduced applications must be renewed

every school year, so please take a minute to fill out a meal application.

It takes only a few minutes

Carbon Valley Regional Library is offering iPad classes this fall;

Thursday, October 23rdfrom

-8:00 pm

Learn the basics of navigating an iPad. Menus, buttons and settings will beexplained in a relaxed and friendly environment. We will also talk aboutapps and how to manage them. Bring your own iPad or iPhone or useone of the librarys iPads.

The classes are free and open to the public, however registration is limitedto the first 12 people to sign up either on our website, by phone, or in thelibrary. While we encourage attendees to bring their own devices, we willalso have iPads on hand for them to use during the class.
