FILM TITLE

We chose ‘80 years straight’ as it describes some background to the film as the characters have spent there lives thinking that they’re straight.

It should make the audience think about the lives of the characters and what will happen in the film.

The title uses humour which is an indication of the theme that will follow in the film.

WHY WE CHOSE THIS ACTING TEAMWe chose this group of actors because they are all of the same generation and are all well know and respected actors. Morgan Freeman plays a regular low paid actor called Desmond, we chose him for this role because we thought after watching Shaw Shank Redemption that Morgan was a perfect fit for our part.

Jack Nicholson is our famous actor who has made his big break in the film as Peter we chose Jack Nicholson as our other actor because he has acted in a number of blockbusters.

Blythe Danner is one of our actresses her name in the film is Ann we chose her for the part because her acting in the film ‘meet the fockers.’

Last but not least we chose Meryl Streep as she has displayed excellent performances in rom-com’s in the past e.g. Mumma mia.

STORYLINE, SETTING AND THEMEThe film is loosely based upon the plot of ‘the holiday.’ However in our film two old school friends meet again in a toilet where Morgan Freeman (desmond) meets Jack Nicholson (Peter).

Peter is a famous movie actor who lives the rich Hollywood life and is married to Meryl Streep (Julie). On the other hand Desmond is married to Blyth Danner (Ann), who live regular normal lives.

Peter and Desmond meet and talk about old memories and agree to meet again.

Although there class difference and years of having wives they both realise that they’re in love with each other.

The comedy lye's in there new experiences with each other and the fun they have.

HOW ARE YOU DEMONSTRATING CONVENTIONS WITHIN THE GENREWe have chosen a story line out of the ordinary with two homosexual, elderly men who leave their wives to make it comical.

Romance is shown with the love of two men who haven’t seen each other in 50 years.

Comedy is shown with the way the two men meet each other in the toilet. Also the experience they have with each other.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOUR FILM DIFFERENT Our film is different because no film has been made with this storyline before. Films have been made where two straight couples swap their partners.

But in this case we have two men that realise after 80 years they are in fact homosexual after being straight for there whole life and decide to leave there wives for each other.

You also don’t tend to see romantic comedies with elderly people in them.

HOW ARE WE GOING TO CREATE INTEREST FOR THE FILM We are going to create interest for the film right from the opening scenes deliberately forcing the audience to question the entire film for example why do these two men meet is it fate or did one search out the other?

By making the audience question the film they stay interested and want to keep watching to find out what happens once the story as it develops.

Also we are going to make our film light hearted and funny whilst still containing romance to make it more appealing to a wider audience to keep our audience interested.

The title also draws people to the film as they think about why they have been straight for so long and what happens in the story.
