How many/many and how much/much: are used to express quantities.

How many/many: quer dizer “muitos, muitas”.

We use with words in the plural with countable nouns.

(Usamos com coisas que podemos contar uma a uma.)

For example:

I bought many apples yesterday.

He found many pens on the floor.

How many cars do you have?

How many friends do you have?

How much/much: quer dizer muito/muita.

We use with words in the singular with uncountable nouns.

(Usamos quando não temos a quantidade definida.)
