Maintain a Routine. Many people think working from home means sitting around in pajamas with the television running in the background. Not true! Just like in an office setting, you have to set yourself up for success when working from home. Stick to your routine of getting dressed each day as you would if you were going into work, make your morning cup of coffee, and jot down your to-do list for the work day, etc. Studies show that sticking to a daily work routine actually reduces stress and enhances productivity. Keep a Designated Office Space. Set up an area of your house to use as your designated workspace and use this space only for work purposes. Sitting down in this workspace will send a clear signal to your brain that it’s time to focus. Set Project Deadlines and Stick to It. When you work from home, you can easily get lenient with deadlines. Formulate a daily plan of attack for work projects from the time you start your work day until the end of it. Make sure you keep everything under time-frame. If you find yourself falling behind, reach out to your team members for support. Crank up the communication. Working from home will require you to be in constant contact with your team. It’s important that you set up routine meetings with your team to discuss an action plan for projects as well as to address other work matters. Use video calls and conference calls to keep the spirits high, and ensure that there are no communication barriers with the team. Get some fresh air. Things may seem grim now, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay cooped up at home. Take a break from your workday and go for a walk or jog around your neighborhood. Studies from Harvard Health suggest that going for walks or exercising daily actually boosts stress-busting endorphins. Of course, remember to exercise caution anytime you leave the house, and make sure to apply the six foot rule as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Keep your spirits up. These are stressful times – no doubt. Negative headlines, and worrying about sick or elderly loved ones can put answering work emails, and phone calls on the back burner. While it’s important to keep yourself informed of the status of the pandemic, it’s best not to dwell on the negative aspects of it. Instead, do activities that will enhance your mood such as exercise, meditation, reading or listen to up-beat music. Log off! When it’s time to log-off from work, do it and don’t log back in until the next work day. Have a last-minute idea come up after office hours? Jot it down, but come back to it tomorrow. Just because you have access to work anytime doesn’t mean you should be logged in 24/7. Allow yourself to have downtime to create a work-life balance—we all need it, no matter where we are working. sources: psychologytoday.com – 5 tips for Working from Home Amid Covid-19, healthline.com – Covid-19 Working from Home Tips: 26 Ways to Be Productive 7 Tips For Working From Home During The Covid-19 Pandemic TREND OFFSET PRINTING Office: (562) 598-2446 Email: [email protected] 3701 Catalina Street Los Alamitos, CA 90720 www.trendoffset.com

In an on-going effort to protect our employees from the spread of Covid-19, Trend Offset Printing has required office staff members to work from home for an indeterminate amount of time. Your company, like many others, may have also required employees to work from home too. While the expectations to get the job done may be the same, the environment is not and it’s not always an easy transition. Here are 7 tips to ensure you lead a more productive remote working life.

Studies show that sticking to a daily work routine actually reducesstress and enhances productivity.

Keep a Designated Office Space. Set up an area of your house to use as your designated workspace and use this space only for work purposes. Sitting down in this workspace will send a clear signal to your brain that it’s time to focus.

Set Project Deadlines and Stick to It.When you work from home, you can easily

get lenient with deadlines.

Negative headlines, andworrying about sick or elderly loved ones

can put answering work emails, and phone calls on the back burner.
