TRANSCRIPT
DEVEX is now in its 16th year and is the only technical conference of its size which is focused on the full cycle of reservoir discovery, evaluation, development and recovery in the UK.
The conference attracts interest and support from operators, service companies, the Regulator and academia and provides excellent opportunities for engineers and geoscientists to come together and share knowledge.

CORE VIEWINGSA popular element of the DEVEX Conference each year is the fascinating Core display. This year, in the light of the OGA
Supplementary Licensing Round in the Buchan area, we will have some core on display from that region.
Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Limited kindly agreed to make the cored section of the Tweedsmuir South discovery well (21/01a-20) available for display as well as a section from the Buchan Field itself. The Tweedsmuir core shows the Burns
sandstone (see below), which has been entirely cored and very well preserved. It is a turbiditic sandstone of Upper Jurassic age, intercalated between shales of the Kimmeridge Clay. The Buchan core from well 21/01-8 will enable
inspection of Devonian sandstones and mudstones from the reservoir section.
