Reflection on the Gospel: Today’s reading offers three signif-icant messages: 1. The clothing of John recalls the austere dress of the prophet Elijah described in 2 Kings 1:8. 2. Although Jesus will be baptized by John, it is clear that John understands his sub-ordinate role in the Jesus event. 3. Through the life-giving bap-tism with the Holy Spirit, Jesus will create a new people of God. For our shared or personal reflection: After a brief pause for silent reflection share your answers, ideas or feelings. 1. How can I make better prepare for the celebration of Christmas even if my family is going through financial difficulties? Explain. 2. Am I aware that I am not “the messiah,” but simply one who announc-es his coming? Have I ever tried to be the “center” of my family’s Christmas celebration? Taken from: https://www.miamiarch.org/atimo_s/news/CCS_E_081207.pdf

December 19th Bishop Knestout will be cele-brating Mass at the 5 pm Vigil in celebration of our Parish’s 50th anniversary. We will be requiring sign-ups for this Mass to ensure we are within the 50% capacity. Additionally, Christmas Masses will have sign-ups. Please visit our website to register for these Masses.

The Mass Book is opening on Dec. 7, 2020 for the 2021 Mass Book for mass intentions.

Experience A Thrill of Hope! In this year of fear and struggle we need the hope and joy of Christmas. Church of the Redeemer's 13th annual No Room at the Inn will be a virtual event with a live online Pre-view Gala on Friday December 4th , 2020. The vir-tual Nativity Exhibit will be available online through Christmas. Visit churchredeemer.org/no-room or call 730-7980 for details.

Please remember the less fortunate in our greater community by donating food items for their family Christmas dinner. There are several ways you can help:

• Place one or more of the requested items in a paper bag with no handles - the handles break off easily.

• Contribute $15 in the “Turkey Envelope” for the family to purchase a turkey or ham. Place the envelope in the offertory basket

or take it to the parish office.

Please bring your food items to the Parish Office garage during regular office hours the week of November 30 - December 4. Please give us a call or ring the bell when you arrive and we will open the garage door for you to place your items on the table. We will also have a drive-thru collection for the Christmas Baskets from 12:30-1:30 pm on December 6th. The drive-thru collection will be at the Parish Office garage. Food items & donations need to be brought in by December 6th.
