www.openstudiosfife.co.ukOpen Studios North Fife is an award winning eventOpen Studios North Fife is only possible because of the hard work of volunteer committee members and those who give their services at special rates in order to support us. We are particularly indebted to designer Richard Budd. Involved from year one, he has created our brand, puts up with numerous changes of mind and, we believe, contributes one of the most outstanding pieces of artwork of the event – the brochure! We are also very grateful to Glen Bennet at EAE distribution for his generosity and support for Open Studios North Fife and to Donald at Beaconweb who has built our new website, allowing participants to upload their own entries for the first time this year.
Visitors to the venues listed in this brochure do so at their own risk. Participants make every effort to make their work spaces safe and welcoming but as working environments they may contain dangerous tools or materials. Those involved in the event cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury sustained by any member of the public during visits to the listed studios.

This event is funded by participant fees. Thanks also to Fife Council for financial investment in the project.
For more information about how to take part in Open Studios please see the ‘join us’ page of our website. To discuss sponsoring future events or for other general enquiries please email
Strathmiglo
Open Studios North Fife was set up in 2006 to promote the wealth of talent of professional artists and makers in the area. We have grown from a group of just 14 that first year to events with participant numbers up to 90! Some are artists who work full time and supply international markets, others are recent
graduates just finding their place in the art or craft world, a few are semi-retired and have come back to professional art practice after years in other employment, many combine their artistic practice with running workshops or other paid activities so that they can pursue their passion and a large number are people who have huge experience of what they do. 2016 sees several regular
This is the 11th year of Open Studios North Fife. From award winning ceramicists and painters to jewellers, weavers and textile artists, and those working in glass, metal, wood, photography and pencil – we have them all.
colourful Open Studios logo, with a number on it corresponding to studio numbers in the brochure, on our white and black sign boards.
Make sure you add your name to the mailing list of any artist whose work you admire to receive notice of other events in which they are taking part.
You will be able to pay some participants with your credit card but most do not have this facility so remember to bring a cheque book or cash if you plan to purchase.
Open Studios North Fife is one of very few such events which is focussed on artists who practise in the area opening their work spaces rather than borrowing
participants taking a year out for other projects or to be visitors to the event for a change! It also sees the addition of several exciting artists new to Open Studios. We hope you enjoy visiting lots of us!
You’ll find clusters of studios only minutes apart and single studios in more rural locations worth going to for the views as well as the work on show! We have provided maps and directions for each studio but if you are not familiar with the area you might want to bring a road map.
You may notice that some other groups and individuals choose to hold exhibitions on the same weekend as Open Studios North Fife and sometimes use similar signage. You will be able to identify open studio artists who have paid the participation fee which funds this brochure and the extensive advertising of this event by the
or hiring exhibition venues. We know that half the fun is seeing into the interesting spaces in which work is created! A few participants have to share venues because of legal/safety restrictions with their own places but all are required to have their permanent studio in the area.
Open Studios North Fife is an opportunity for you to speak to artists about their methods and sources of inspiration and perhaps buy or commission directly from them.
All studios are open for 3 days Sat 7th – Mon 9th May

www.openstudiosfife.co.ukOpen Studios North Fife is an award winning eventOpen Studios North Fife is only possible because of the hard work of volunteer committee members and those who give their services at special rates in order to support us.
