A delightful collection of 3 and 4 bedroom country houses and bungalows in the beautiful Cotswold village of Willersey, Gloucestershire
W I L L E R S E Y • B R O A D W AY
Considerate | Conscientious | Crafted
W illersey is an historical village at the
northern edge of the Cotswolds Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty close to the boundary
with Worcestershire and just minutes from the well-
known picturesque Cotswold centre of Broadway.
Village charm
The village essentially straddles the B4632 Broadway
to Stratford road and is dominated by the wide open
green either side of the main street. A selection of
beautiful Cotswold cottages and townhouses cast
their golden charm across the grass.
Unsurprisingly, Willersey has a been a winner of
the Best Kept Village competition, with a much-
admired duck pond nestled at the centre, and it’s
not difficult to see why. The village also boasts two
pubs – The Bell Inn and The New Inn – while there Is
no shortage of other options in Broadway and other
villages nearby including the delightful 15th Century
Fleece Inn at Bretforton.
Shops & Schools
Willersey Stores is very much at the centre of the
community. Trading for over 120 years, it stocks
a range of groceries and fresh produce as well as
being home to a small café. For more significant
shopping options Warners Budgens store at
Broadway is just a couple of miles away and there
are larger superstores in Evesham (6 miles). Other
local facilities include a play area and park, busy
village hall, garage and hairdresser as well as
a Methodist Church and the attractive country
church of St Peter, famous for its ring of six bells
cast in 1712 which are rung regularly today.
Willersley boasts a small and very popular primary
school just off the main street. There are good
options in Broadway or Evesham while secondary
education is well catered for in Evesham as well as
at the outstanding Chipping Campden School.
Genuine community
Willersey retains the smaller feel of a genuine
community with a key focus being the annual
Horticultural and Craft Show held on August Bank
Holiday which not only brings the current village
together but also recalls its history with items such
as the vintage tractor display.
Majestic setting
The stunning countryside of the area naturally
lends itself to a variety of outdoor pursuits and
Willersey is on the trail of the well-known 62-mile
Donnington Way walking route, part of which
includes the delightful hillside hamlet of Saintbury.
Other famous hillspots nearby include Dovers Hill -
site of the original English Olympic Games in
1612 when Shakespeare was around (though it’s
not sure he took part!) – and of course Middle
Hill where the majestic Broadway Tower
enjoys magnificent views stretching
for miles. Also nearby
is the delightful
Snowshill Manor with
it’s inviting gardens.
