1. PLACE AND DATES The 61st meeting of the UNWTO Regional Commission for the Americas (CAM) will be held in San Salvador on Tuesday, 30 May, from 09:00 to 17:00 hours. Officials holding diplomatic, official and service passports do not require a visa, because they are in category A. Similarly, those who travel with an ordinary passport and have a United States, Canada or Schengen visa do not need a Honduran visa. However, those who are not in the previous cases and have the first port of entry into the CA-4 area in Honduras, have to process a visa in our consulates, as follows:

(c) If your country requires a Honduran visa please contact the nearest Honduran consulate. In case of problems with the visa application, please contact the liaison officer of the Honduran Institute of Tourism before 21 April 2017.

(d) Yellow fever: Yellow fever vaccination certificate required for travellers over the age of 1 year arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission and for travellers having transited for more than 12 hours through an airport of a country with risk of yellow fever transmission (Panama). The certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is valid for life if it can be issued up to 10 days before the trip.

A. TRANSPORT

- EL SALVADOR The Ministry of Tourism of El Salvador (MITUR) will organize the transfer of the participants, both on arrival and on departure, between Mons. Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport (SAL) and the hotels mentioned below in item B. The Mons. Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport (SAL) is 45 minutes from San Salvador. In order enable the local authorities to arrange the transfer service, participants are requested to indicate their wish to avail of this service in the participation form mentioned above in point 2 (registration), and provide their arrival, departure and accommodation information.

- HONDURAS The Honduran Institute of Tourism (IHT) will organize the transfer of the participants by air from San Salvador to Roatán, on 31 May at 11:30 hours and back from Roatán to San Salvador, on 2 June at 09:30 hours. IHT will organize the transfer of the participants, both on arrival and on departure, between Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB) and the hotels mentioned below in item B. The Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB) is 13 kilometres from West Bay (resorts area). More detailed information is available on the airport website: https://www.interairports.hn/aeropuerto-de-roatan-2/

El Salvador is located in the tropical climate zone and has similar thermal conditions throughout the year. However, due to its coastal strip along the Pacific Ocean, it has 2 seasons each year (winter - summer). Average temperatures in degrees Celsius are 27° on the coast, 24 ° in the capital of San Salvador and 18° in highland regions. The climate is pleasant throughout the year.

Official time

The time in El Salvador is UTC/GMT -6. Offices open their doors generally at around 08:00 hours and close at 17:00 hours. Shops are open from 09:00 or 10:00 hours and close at 20:00 hours.

The official currency of the Republic of El Salvador is U.S. Dollar.

Language The official language of El Salvador is Spanish.

Safety and Security

El Salvador has had more than 5 consecutive years without any adverse incidents affecting tourism. In addition, there are 400 members of the Tourism Police (POLITUR). However, it is recommended to adopt the usual security measures. In case of emergency you should call the National Emergency Centre at 911.

Banks Banks are open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 hours, and on Saturdays from 09:00 hours to 13:00 hours. The hotel has a currency exchange office.

Electricity Participants are reminded to bring the suitable transformers and adapters. There are two types of electrical sockets. Throughout El Salvador, the power supply is 110 volts AC, 60 hertz (110V AC, 60Hz).

Restaurants

The traditional food of El Salvador is characterized by being based on corn. The culinary customs and traditions of our ancestors had corn as a staple corn alongside other ingredients such as beans that make Salvadoran food and side dishes very special. Pupusas are one of the most popular dishes, and they are widely available at establishments called pupuserías. Other traditional elements in Salvadoran cuisine are dishes like tamales de elote, tamales de gallina india, riguas, fried cassava as well as beverages such as atoles. For those who live outside our country, on arrival they can enjoy the typical dishes of El Salvador.

Dress Code

El Salvador: For meetings, women usually wear formal business clothes, and men wear suits. For social events, casual attire is normally worn. For technical visits, cool comfortable clothes and hat. Climate

Roatán belongs to the island department of Islas de la Bahía, where a warm tropical climate is the norm, with slight temperature changes between winter and summer. The average annual temperature is 29.4° C / 85° F. The humidity is usually high, especially from May to September. The temperature of the water varies between 27-31° C / 81-88 ° F. Although the weather is consistently good all year round, during the rainy season (approximately October to January) rains can be moderate to strong and hurricanes are not frequent. The use of insect repellent is essential, especially in wooded or beach areas.

Official time

The time in Honduras is UTC/GMT -6. There is no daylight savings time. Business open their doors generally at around 08:00 or 10:00 hours and close between 17:00 and 20:00 hours.

Language: The official language of Honduras is Spanish. Nevertheless, Creole English is the most commonly spoken language on the island as a result of its initial British occupation.

The official currency of Honduras is the Lempira, which comes in 5, 10, 20 and 50 cent coins as well as bills of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 lempiras. Restaurants

Honduran cuisine in addition to being very rich is very varied. In it you can find a mixture of pre-Hispanic, Creole, Spanish and African culinary elements.
