From the Pastor:

My dear friends in Christ,

God’s wisdom challenges our human perspective and Christ calls us to a higher standard of religious practice. It is easy for us to accept God’s ways when things are going our way...but then comes the challenging moments in our relationships: betrayal, injustice, or even unfaithfulness. First the emotional pain sets in followed by frustration which turns into anger, and then in some cases, rage sets in. Can we ever be justified in our anger? Jesus offers us a wisdom that counsels reconciliation, faithfulness, and integrity--all manifestations of His radical call to shape our lives by love. God’s compassionate eyes are upon us, encouraging us to choose the path of life. Pope Francis tells us: “God’s world is a world where everyone feels responsible for the other, for the good of the other. This evening, in reflection, fasting and prayer, each of us deep down should ask ourselves: Is this really the world that I desire? Is this really the world that we all carry in our hearts? Is the world we want really a world of harmony and peace, in ourselves, in our relations with others, in families, in cities, in and between nations? And does not true freedom mean choosing ways in this world that lead to the good of all and are guided by love?” It’s about how we live together and work together as a community.

I would like to thank those who responded to my appeal (Elizabeth and Eleanor) for joining the cleaning team. I would also like to thank that special person who donated a brand new Shark vacuum cleaner to our parish.

And finally, Happy Valentine’s day!

May God bless you all!

Fr. John

THAT MAN IS YOU!

For over 50 years the Church has been focused on the importance of the Christian family. We’ll watch a DVD on what five Popes have written about families. God called Joseph to be the head of the Holy Family. He has called “us” as men to be Joseph for our families. There are seven steps we are working on to be better husbands, fathers, and grandfathers. We meet Saturdays, 6:00 to 7:45 AM with coffee and Danish. Have your first cup of coffee with us! Questions? Please call Tom Janus at 609.835.1475.

Corpus Christi Parish extends a warm invitation to all newly registered parishioners (last three months) to join us following the 9:30 AM Mass on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26th so that we may have the opportunity to welcome you to our Parish Family. Light refreshments served.

FAITH TO MOVE MOUNTAINS UPDATE We have just received our second Diocesan rebate check based on your sacrificial gifts to the Faith to Move Mountains Campaign. Our total pledge to date is $665,105 with a balance remaining of $488,737.08 over a three to five year pledge period. Our parish goal was $755,000. We were $89,895 short of our goal. It’s never too late to close this gap and make a final pledge. Pledge Cards are still available in the Sacristy. Faith to Move Mountains was a one-time campaign designed to strengthen the long term future of our Diocese. It is not to be confused with the Annual Catholic Appeal which will be introduced in the coming weeks. The monies raised for the Annual Catholic Appeal are used for the day-to-day operation of our Diocese.
