OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

• Explain imaging features of key neuroimaging emergencies to aid in making accurate diagnosis. • Describe the different modalities for imaging of the CNS and recognize the advantages of each. • Describe advances in neuroradiology that affect clinical practices for taking care of children with neurologic disorders. • Develop skills in differentiating pulmonary infections by their characteristic features and how to formulate the imaging strategies needed to diagnose and treat them and their complications. • Describe the sonographic and MRI imaging findings of common congenital chest masses. • Explain the imaging signs of hydrops fetalis and appropriate prenatal and postnatal management of congenital chest masses. • Review the use of Osirix mediastinal volumetry of recipients to improve donor selection for pediatric heart transplants. • Correlate volume of effective mediastinal cavity regarding weights of potential heart transplant donors. • Explain CT coronary angiography technique and various anomalies of coronary arteries. • Understand the utility of cardiovascular MR for myocarditis. • Describe limitations of screening cardiovascular MR after COVID-19 in return to play decision algorithms. • Discuss common and uncommon causes of respiratory distress in newborn infants. • Describe imaging findings for neonatal respiratory distress using various modalities. • Describe imaging features of common and less common pulmonary diseases in children. • Discuss several important non-pulmonary and non-cardiovascular diagnoses made on chest imaging. • Recognize key radiographic findings of bowel obstruction, perforations, and necrosis and identify the most common causes in children. • Identify acute pediatric abdominal emergencies which can be diagnosed by fluoroscopy and/or treated using fluoroscopic guidance. • Describe key ultrasound finding to diagnose hypertrophic pyloric stenosis and other causes of neonatal vomiting. • Describe key ultrasound findings to diagnose ovarian torsion among causes of pelvis pain in girls. • Differentiate and classify intra-abdominal solid organ injury patterns • Identify imaging features of bowel and mesenteric injury and unique abdominal injury findings seen with child abuse. • Define recent advances in imaging of inflammatory bowel disease. • Discuss techniques, indications, and findings in MR urography (MRU). • Describe principles, techniques, and applications of contrast enhanced ultrasound in children. • Describe important findings in pediatric osteomyelitis, uncommon fractures, and hip effusions. • Describe cardinal imaging features of lethal and nonlethal skeletal dysplasias. • Describe information needed to run a multidisciplinary vascular anomaly clinic. • Discuss minimally invasive pediatric IR procedures for nerve blocks and ablations.
