From a Chicago Stonewall activist to NYC drag queens to a DC socialite. 50Faggots showcases the diversity of experiences out-and-proud gay men achieve. 50Faggots a web series, will premiere the second webisode “I Was Just A Poor Lost Boy”. The premiere will be held at Hoover-Leppen Theatre on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 7pm -10pm. The screening will be immediately followed by an audience Q&A and talkback discussion. A premiere After Party and Fundraiser titled Serving Faggots at Hydrate Nightclub located at 3458 N. Halsted Avenue. Audiences will be entranced with performances by 50Faggots cast members, as well as other nationally known performers. The screening and fundraiser will feature some of our Chicago cast members such as: David Sotomayor, also known as Jade from Season 1 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Robert Mitchell, also known as the nightlife personality and Billboard Recording Artist. Cyon Flare, and special guest and YouTube sensation Dwayne Milan known for his video parody “Ms. Cleo”. 50Faggots educates audiences with the unprecedented access to the lives and experiences of effeminate male activists, artists, professionals and educators perspectives rarely discussed within most cultures. The series addresses the dearth of self-acceptance among effeminate men, young and old, with humorous anecdotes, important wisdom, and inspiring models of resilience. By offering individual alternatives to dominant constructions of American masculinity and heteronormative gay lifestyles, this film illuminates the on-going issues relevant to queer communities.
