Style sheet
Style Sheet The image styles that I have chosen are mainly portraits and long shot of the characters. This is because I think it will give the audience a clear idea to what movie is the main feature. I prefer the images that have already got a background therefore the background already matches the film. The fonts I chose to use were basic sans-serif and serif fonts, I will use these types of fonts in my final product because they will keep the magazine traditional. I also like the brighter colour schemes which I might use depending on the film I chose to use on my front cover, for example if the film is an action/adventure film then the colour will have to be darker. If the film is a comedy or family film then I will be able to use the brighter colour schemes. The colour I use for the fonts will have to be brighter or darker than the background so the are easily readable. I will be using some of these features in my own final product.

I used the map from the Pirates of the Caribbean as my main background for my magazine because of the colour which makes everything else on the cover stand out more.
I kept the title of the magazine at the top of the page and kept it straight which makes the layout look more traditional. I also made a catchy heading which I put in the middle of the page and overlapping everything else so it makes it look more noticeable.
The text layout that I used only included a small amount of text but that makes them more catchy. I made the text overlap the centre picture as well as it being more to the sides of the page.
I have also chosen where I am going to put my barcode and price tag, which is in the corners of the page.
The main image of the cover is the main character of the film the magazine is focusing on. This image has no background so you can see the image behind it. It also overlaps the title of the magazine which is also seen a lot on magazine covers.
Layout 2
Harry Potter SpecialWill Harry Potter come back from the forest fighting or will this be the end?
Will the deathly hallows be proved to be real or are they just a myth?
Will Hermione and Ron finally accept their love for each other?
Instead of keeping the title of the magazine straight I made it slanted which makes it take up more room from the page. I chose a font that is sans-serif because it is traditional for magazine covers.
I still kept the price tag and barcode in the corners of the page because they aren’t important for the look of the magazine.
Instead of using one main character image on this layout I used to and out them to one side of the page. The top of this image still overlaps on to the title.
On the layout I have kept all the text to one side and have used questions only. The text still overlaps the main image but doesn’t cover up the face of the character. This overall layout is more basic that traditional magazine layout plans.
Magazine Cover 1The first magazine cover is going to be based upon the film ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. This means that the colour scheme I am going to use will be colours like greys, blues and blacks. The film is a family adventure film that features action and comedy as well. The title of the magazine is going to be ‘popcorn’ and will feature a picture of the main character jack sparrow. I will base my magazine on up to date information and will focus on the new upcoming pirates of the Caribbean film. I will include some movie titles of other blockbuster movies and images to go with them. The layout of the magazine cover will be traditional and basic which a barcode, price and date.

Magazine Cover 2The second magazine cover is going to be aimed at an older audience therefore the genre of the main film is going to action. I wanted to keep the magazine up to date so I am going to base it on the ‘Spectre’ film. The layout plan that I will use will be same as the layout plans in my planning which will keep the magazine traditional and simple. I will use the main character as the centre piece and maybe included the worst movies of 2015 and the movie releases of 2016. I will also keep the title of the magazine cover the same with the same font and colour.
Page Spread 1
My first page spread is going to relate to my first magazine cover, it is going to be based upon the new upcoming ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film. I will include the release date and a simple description about what the film has to offer. The title of the page is going to be the recognisable pirates of the Caribbean font and the background will be a vintage dark style which will include the two main characters. The text on the page will be in the centre witch will be black and a plain simple font. The top of the characters will overlap the bottom of the title which will be a traditional magazine style/theme.

Page Spread 2
My second magazine page spread is going to be focusing on the top rated films of 2015, this is because it is a really common page to have in a film magazine and means you don’t have to focus on one separate film. I am going to keep the background a simple white colour and the text black. I will add images of the films and include the top 5 from 2015. the title of the page is going to be biggest film of 2015 and I will include the traditional rating star for each of the films.
Contents PageMy contents page is going to have a different theme to the page spreads and magazine cover as I want the magazine to include different action genres. I want to use a sci-fi space theme and maybe aim at the new star wars film. I want the layout to be simple and the text easy to read but with a space theme. The colour scheme can be green and blue as they both go really well together and the images could be characters from the new star wars movie, this will keep the magazine up to date with new movies which will make the audience interested.
