5 EA Tweeters You Should Follow

Submitted by Jonas Lamis on Thu, 08/13/2009 - 11:17am.

A couple of years back, I was attending Gartner Symposium, and the analyst presenter started talking about DigitalNatives and Digital Immigrants. The natives are technology savvy youngsters who have grown up in an alwaysconnected, always on world. Digital Natives find new technologies to be intuitive. They are at ease in navigating theblogosphere and the social networks. And they tweet.

On the other hand, we have the Digital Immigrants. They… are we. If you are over age 30, you most likely have yourhands full trying to figure out what social tools you should invest your time in? When should you post on Facebook vs.Linked In? And why the heck everyone is talking about Twitter?

I’ve been a member of the twittering class for about 18 months. My stats say I have made 1449 updates have 830followers, and I am following 805 other tweeters. I post about a broad set of interests, from EA to the TechnologyIncubator I run (Tech Ranch Austin) to some of my more esoteric interests like glass blowing and HDR photography. You can read them all by following me twitter.com/jonaslamis.

While those stats may sound impressive, they don’t hold a candle to some of the most prolific and thoughtful twitterati inthe world of Enterprise Architecture. Here are five Twitter users that would make a great set of first followers if you arenew to Twitter, or names that should surely be on your Favs list if you are expanding your network.

Surprisingly not found in the twittersphere are EA analysts from Gartner. Of all of the analysts covering EA fromGartner (listed here: http://www.gartner.com/0_admin/AnalystCoverageAreas.jsp#Enterprise%20Architecture), accordingto Gartner’s own list of analysts on Twitter, only Nick Gall (http://twitter.com/ironick) is active.
