Monomial- numeral, variable or product of numerals and variables (one term) ex: 4x3y

Binomial- expression with two terms ex: 2x + 6

Trinomials-expression with three terms ex: 3x2 + x – 8

Degree

Degree of a term: Sum of all exponents in that termEx:

Degree of term: 2+1 or 3

Degree of the polynomial: whichever term has highest degreeEx:

Degree: 4 3 5

The highest is 5 so the polynomial’s degree is 5 and x5 is leading term
