Commonwealth Games 2010
Miao Dives For Glory On Saturday Miao Miao really dived into the game and deserved to win.
“Just before the game Miao told me that she had a dream,” says her Dad, “and I reckon it was a dream of winning.”
The game didn’t start too good for Miao as she was losing to the world-champ, John Kingsman, 1-3. But it didn’t stop there, John scored another 4 as Miao scored 1!
It was either fluke or skill, or maybe even both, but Miao caught up towards the end 10 all! It looked like the game was over as John took what looked like the winning shot as it was 10-11! But, as he takes it, Miao
dives and absolutely hits it in style!
John decides to go cross-table so Miao can’t get to it fast enough , but Miao just dives and saves it every time until John just loses it and misses!
Miao amazingly goes ahead 11 – 12 with an ace!
John served but Miao just whacked it too hard back at him and scores the win and beats the world champ!!!
It really was a great game to watch, it was really exciting. They both were great players but Miao was just too good for John, and, obviously it was a dream of winning!

Lauren’s Gone For Gold! Lauren’s gone for gold again! She was competing against Haylea Rodwith, Meg Bedoom, Sarah Rink and Remi Saltwick. Meg was leading half way through but sadly she had tripped over the 6th hurdle! That left Lauren a wonderful chance to come first!
Lauren had started doing athletics when she was very young and had enjoyed it a lot so she decide to try and compete in the Commonwealth Games and had got a bronze medal. Lauren saw how good and talented she was.
When Lauren was competing once she came a draw to Jessica Ryibben. So they had to share the gold. Lauren was still very happy because it was a draw. There was about 1,000,000 people glued to their T.V screens watching that and they were pretty shocked when they saw it was a draw.
Everyone will wish Lauren lots of luck for the next Commonwealth Games!
GO LAUREN!

Pearson Breaks Drought “Pearson is jumping over the last hurdle. She ‘s jumped now , the last sprint and she’s won gold!!! That assures a win for Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.”
That isn’t the only gold for Sally, in fact it was the last of three gold medals she won. The other two were in the 100m sprint and the 400m relay. How good is that?!? She’d never even been to the Commonwealth Games before. This year she smashed them by 1 second, 2 seconds and by 0.4 in the relay. She also beat two Commonwealth Games’
records in the 100 metres and the hurdles.
At the airport she couldn’t put her pen away and neither could her trainer but they were so full of delight that they didn’t mind a bit. On the plane it was even worse, they had to hide when the seatbelt sign went off but they still didn’t mind that either.
When they got back to Australia, Sally’s Mum, Dad and boyfriend were waiting with their arms open and Sally’s trainer’s children and husband were doing the same. Everyone was so happy that they decided to go back home and have a party.

Amanda Reaches For Gold AgainWOW! How high did she go? So high, about six meters. Is that her best jump or has she done better? She was so close to losing to India. She bet the world record so here comes another gold medal again.
Poor England were coming last in pole vault. It’s so sad because one of the girls didn’t come but Amanda did it all for her team. Amanda is so happy now because she made it again.
The crowd went wild. It’s amazing for all Aussies. It was a bit funny that the other teams were a bit sad and started to cry and falling on the ground . But Amanda made everything better for everybody . I bet a lot of people wanted to be like Amanda Bisk.

Discus Champ’s Luck

Mac has thrown a straight throw and it hits the ground at 55 metres. What luck! But he couldn’t have done it without the cheering of his fans.
George threw a not so lucky shot of 50 metres. Rupert’s looked like a promising one but no not very promising at all, it’s just a low record of 49m. I guess it’s all up to Leo. Oh no it’s fifty four!
So the winner is Mac in second place Leo third place George and last but not least
Rupert. It’s so amazing how Leo only got it one metre behind Mac.
Mac actually has three bronze medals, three silver medals and including the gold he got today he has three gold so I guess three is Mac’s favourite number.
