Standard height is 1000 mm (optionally 1100 mm) at the ends and through the incline to match the building’s railings.

Balustrade

The extended balustrades enhance the escalator's aesthetic appearance and match the image of the building. They avoid the need for additional railings and can save money for the builder.

Specially designed flat angle combs makeit easier for passengers to push trolleys onand off the autowalks.

Specially designed deflectors protect theautowalks from damage caused byshopping trolleys. They are also a usefulguiding mechanism to push shoppingtrolleys in the correct direction.

Cladding

Tall glass balustrades combined with standard or customized cladding solutions to match the building’s interior environment.Fixing points are also available in the trussallowing you to use local custom materials and designs enabling the escalator or autowalk to be seamlesslyintegrated with the appearance of thebuilding.

Stainless steel cladding is both functional and attractive.

Decorative primed sheet steel can be painted locally by the customer.

Hinged glass cladding gives a special touchto the building, especially when combined with the KONE ECO3000™ Chain. As this chain is lubricated for life, ugly oil spills belong to the past!1

Lighting

Attractive aesthetics do not end withcladding, the welcome area andbalustrades. Lighting systems can alsobring a special touch to both the escalator and the building.

LED spotlights - even with skirt brush deflectors - bring a special effect to the escalator and also to the building.

Handrail lighting is another useful and attractive option.

LED comb lighting significantly enhance safety and speed up passenger flow.

The KONE ECO3000 Drive andoptional Lubrication-Free Chain lead tosignificant oil savings compared toconventional systems.

The KONE ECO3000 Lubrication-FreeChain is protected against dust andwater and is lifetime lubricated – thatmeans no oiling is necessary, which isa must when glass cladding is chosen.

The heart of the escalator is the KONE ECO3000 Drive. It is chainless (even forthe handrail drive), extremely efficient(96%) and, with periodical oil analyses,it only requires an oil change after30,000 hours (twice as long asconventional drive systems).

The sophisticated microprocessor-basedcontroller can also connect the escalatorsto building monitoring systems.

Standby operation with integratedphotocells in the balustrade adjusts thespeed based on usage, increases thelifetime of the escalator, and reducesenergy consumption considerably. As itincreases the visibility of the direction oftravel, it also speeds up passenger flow.
