Offertory Prayer Unison
Loving God, our hunger is never better satisfied than at your table. Our gifts can have no higher value than when they are offered to you. Because you fill our spirits, we hunger to serve. And we pray that these gifts may be as food to nourish the living body of Christ. Amen.
Offertory O Master Workman Early American Tune
*Doxology, No. 95 Praise God
*A Statement of Faith Into the Silence
Into the silence the Creator spoke,
and the world came into being.
The Word of God brought light from darkness,
matter from nothing,
flesh from dust,
life from lifelessness.
In the quiet of a small town in Palestine
the Word of God came to us.
Jesus our Christ, taking on human form, was born,
lived and walked among us,
speaking the words of life.
He was crucified, died, and was buried.
He rose from the dead and speaks to us today.
In the stillness of our souls the Spirit of God,
whispers the Word,
and calls us back to the Creator,
back to the Christ,
back to the wholeness of everlasting life.
Opening the Scriptures John 6:24-35

*Opening Prayer Unison
God of spirit and flesh,
God of earth and heaven,
God of grape and grain,
We stretch our arms in need of you.
We feed ourselves with gifts from you.
We thank you for your love poured out
as we sense your Spirit
in the souls of each one gathered here.
Recreate us in your image
as we encounter you today,
that our lives might ignite a love to light the world.
Let your presence passing through us
infuse the world with joy we pray. Amen.

Prayer of Preparation Unison
Gracious Lord, we do not come to this table trusting in our own goodness, but in your great mercy. We come knowing we need forgiveness and trusting you to grant it. We come to you because we are hungry for meaning and we know that only you can satisfy our hungry hearts.
We come because Jesus Christ invites us to remember his sacrifice and because we want to walk with him in newness of life. As we receive these gifts of bread and wine, may we grow into his likeness and continue to dwell in him and he in us. Amen.
