The potential and diversity of energy resources in the district

Rivers like Muyanza, Base, Bahimba can generate micro hydro-power.

Presence Peat in different marchlands Renewable energy development (biogas):

large number cattle due to GIRINKA program

Existing policies and other instruments that support energy production utilizationONGs : PAREF, NAFA have contributed to tree

planting (reforestation) for around 100 Ha of old forests in the different areas of the District.

Promotion of Private Sector Investment in the use of alternative and renewable sources of energy (Solar & Biogas) for electricity connectivity.
