Centennial Corner: From her book The Story of a Soul, St.
Therese writes “I am convinced that one should tell… if one has
a great desire for Communion, for Our Lord does not come from
Heaven everyday to stay in a golden ciborium; He comes to find
another heaven, the heaven of our soul in which He loves to dwell.” Let’s
pray that we might follow St. Therese’ example and receive Jesus in our
heart and soul this Christmas.

The Feast day for Our Lady of Guadalupe is Monday December 12th. The Virgin Mary is not
just the patroness of Mexico; she is the “Patroness of the Americas”. Even though these
events took place in the year 1531, they are meant for us today as well. Mary told Juan
Diego “My little child, the smallest of all, let nothing afflict you. Do you not know that you
are in my lap? Am I not here, I, who am your mother?” If you would like to know more
about the details & miracles of Our Lady of Guadalupe go to www.sancta.org.
Come, Lord Jesus! Do not delay! Wednesday, December
14th , 5:30-6:30 PM, I invite you to prayer and healing in the presence
of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Our regular Holy Hour will include
prayer and the Sacrament of Anointing for healing for anyone strug-
gling with health issues of body, emotions or soul; for those dealing
with depression; anyone experiencing deep sorrow at the passing of a
loved one; surgeries, major or relatively small; cancers or other dis-
eases; disease of the eyes. I include eye problems because Tuesday of
this week we celebrate the feast of St Lucy. Tradition passed on that
part of her martyrdom included losing her eyesight, so Believers have
over the centuries looked to her friendship before the throne of God for
healing. In the presence of our Eucharistic King, we will implore her
prayers with faith and devotion.
May the glorious intercession
of the Virgin and Martyr Saint Lucy
give us new heart, we pray, O Lord,
so that we may celebrate her heavenly birthday
in this present age
and so behold things eternal.
Through Christ our Lord.
Blessings on your Advent waiting.
FR. DAVID
