Safety & Operations

I hope this newsletter finds all of you doing well. This past month has been a busy month, hitting record breaking numbers in many areas. We have been extremely blessed this year and I see the remaining months to be just as strong.

As most of you know National Truck Driver Appreciation Week was the week of September 9-15th this year. We hope you were able to make it around to the terminals and enjoy some refreshments. In addition to the refreshments we had

a care package that contained a DHT Appreciation Shirt and a letter mailed to your homes. This is just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for Danny Herman Trucking year-round. Please know that while there is one week specific to driver appreciation, we at DHT appreciate all you do for our company and our country. Without the men and women like yourselves, we could not keep America moving.

I would also like to thank your families and the support system that you have at home; without their love and support, I realize it would make the job you do on the road much harder.

May God bless each of you and your families! May He keep you safe in every mile that you travel.

Keep on Trucking Safely!!

Joe

“We give thanks to God always for you all

making mention of you in our prayers;”

1 Thessalonians 1:2

Thank YouHello, all DHT drivers, I hope this newsletter finds you and your families well.

The Safety Department wanted to extend our thanks to all of you for what you do for us and DHT. As you all know it is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week at the time of this writing. I want all of you to know that we appreciate what you do all the time, not just one week out of the year. So, Thank You All!!

We would also like you to tell your families thank you for us as well. Without their support it would be hard to do this kind of work. This is not a job, it is a lifestyle. Being an OTR driver in the beginning of my career I know how difficult it can be at times being away from home. So, please let them know that we appreciate them as

part of the DHT Family.

You have all been doing a great job for DHT, and it is that team work that makes us successful.

So, keep trucking safely, and if there is anything that myself or the Safety Department can do for you, please let us know and we will do our best to help you.

Thank you and may GOD keep you safe and accident free.

Steve Frantz, VP of Safety

Finish StrongAs we head toward the final quarter of the year, the economy continues to be strong. Although there will always be pockets of the country with issues on a given day, the overall fleet is being utilized at a very high rate. Our goal is to keep our driving force moving and not having to wait at shippers, consignees or for loads. Although we will never achieve perfection we are striving to accomplish this every day and to strike a

balance to meet both our internal customer needs (drivers) and our external customer needs (the bill payer). I truly believe we have the best drivers in the country, and we will continue to improve operationally to better serve your needs.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is a time where those of us in the industry focus our attention on the contributions and sacrifices that all of America’s Drivers make to keep our country strong. I personally wish this celebration would become even more wide spread to people not in the industry. The average person doesn’t understand what it takes to get groceries on the shelf,

and in turn, doesn’t understand what drivers go through. For any of those who enjoy sports, I have always said that you shouldn’t be allowed to criticize an umpire or referee until you have done their job. The same goes for drivers. We are constantly looking at billboards on the highways asking you to call if you were in an accident with a truck, seeing stories of wrecks involving trucks, etc. My hope is that all of us as an industry can expand people’s knowledge of all the things that are done right each day by drivers and how drivers are the backbone of logistics. Driver Appreciation Week should be a time for everyone, not just the people in the industry, to celebrate and thank America’s Drivers for all they do each day. I greatly appreciate all drivers and especially those of you I work with at DHT. Make no mistake, all of us in the office are thankful to you for the part you play in supplying us with the ability to support our families. Without our drivers, we would not exist.

I am hopeful that all of us experience a strong finish to 2018. God Bless.

Blake Grindstaff, VP of Operations

43 Maintenance & Sales

Introducing Mr. Bobby AllenFamily Spotlight

DANNY HERMAN TRUCKING, INC. | July / August 2018

We would like to welcome Bobby Allen, our new Vice President of Maintenance Department. Bobby is actually a rehire! He was part of the DHT family from 2006 to 2011. We are so blessed and thankful to have him back as part of our team.

Bobby resides in Blountville, TN, with his beautiful wife, Denise, along with his spoiled-rotten Boxer, Harley. They love their camper and enjoy hitting the road and camping or riding in the mountains in their convertible Corvette! He enjoys fishing and hunting, when he has time. They have 4 married children with 7 grandchildren!

To all the TN Vols fans, he says he is sorry! He is not a Vols fan, but Alabama all the way! (He better watch out in the Mountain City office, for we are TN VOLS PROUD!!!) He is a Red Sox fan, Redskins fan, but only watches college basketball on TV, no favs!

We are very happy to have Bobby with us, and we have confidence he will add so much to our DHT company, our DHT culture, and our DHT family! Welcome home, Bobby Allen!

Miles, Miles & More Miles

Hi everyone,

I trust you are doing well and have enjoyed your summer and now the Fall Season. Please drive with a sharp awareness as we enter the winter months. Keep an eye out for the other guy and always allow time for delays with your pick-up and delivery schedules. Safety is always our

number one priority here at Danny Herman Trucking.

We’ve had a good year thus far in 2018 and are on track to finish strong. It looks like we could have a more traditional 4th Quarter this year than we have experienced in the last several. This will mean miles, miles and more miles for you and a very

Merry Christmas for you and your families. I hope you all will take advantage of this market and run hard while things are good for the Trucking Industry. Your Sales Team is working hard to generate the best Driver-Friendly freight the industry has to offer. Your professional service helps us to continue to secure this business.

Be Safe out on the highways and bi-way, and thank you for the great job you do for us and for America. We know that without our truckers, it would shut down everything!

God Bless,Rick Watkins, VP of Sales

Bob McDonald has been driving for DHT since 2011. He is a great driver, has served on the TTA as Road Team Captain in 2015, and is a true asset to this

company. We thank him for what he does for DHT, but today we want to thank his son, Ralph Joshua McDonald, who has just retired from our Military after

20 years of service. We are so thankful to the men and women of our Military for their sacrifice and service to our country, and we are especially proud to know

this man! Thank you for the service your family has given to DHT and to our great nation!

DANNY HERMAN TRUCKING, INC. | July / August 2018

From: F. DENNIS I FOLLOWED BEHIND ONE OF YOUR TRUCKS FROM ARKANSAS INTO OLKA. THE BIBLE VERSE ON THE BACK OF YOUR TRUCK AND THE WORD FAITH WAS REALLY INSPIRING. IT'S A GREAT FEELING TO SEE THIS ON YOUR TRUCK. THANK YOU.

From: Michelle Bonner I just wanted to reach out to say thank you for the heart of your company and for the scriptures on the back of your trucks. I lost my oldest son, Deral (11 years old) in a horrific accident on August 4th, 2018. Through this time, God has given me the scripture Isaiah 40:31. This scripture has been my saving grace, my hope and my promise from God. He first gave me this scripture during a woman’s retreat in April earlier this year, it has since popped up in the most unusual places during this first month after my son's death. We just took a last-minute trip to san Diego from Phoenix, where we live, to just get away. I prayed for a sign from God all weekend to remind me of His grace and to confirm that my baby boy was safe with our Father in heaven. I was disappointed because I left the beach without my sign. Driving home I became increasingly upset. Until I saw your truck! There it was, plain as day, MY SCRIPTURE. I know we often never get to see the harvest from our planted seeds. So, I wanted to share with you just how your obedience has paid off. Long ago when you chose to put scripture on your trucks God knew of this day and my prayer. So, thank you! Good work faithful servant! With love, The Bonner family

From: Nick Farley I drive from Waxahachie to Dallas every morning to work for the Department of Family and Protective Services. More than twice I have been privileged to drive behind one of your trucks with Romans 15:13 and HOPE plastered on the back. Thank you for spreading God's hope to a lost world as your drive take their loads to a destination. Our world needs hope. I work with people every day who have lost their children for a time and most of them have little or no hope in this world. Nick Farley

Leta C Woolard Just want to give a thumb up for one of your drivers on I44 north of Strafford, MO, Tuesday afternoon on 8/7. He was driving very reasonable and respectful. Sure appreciated the scripture verse on the back too (Isaiah 40:31). Warm regards, Leta Woolard
