Dear 4-H Member; Come be part of a celebration of 4-H project activities! You will have fun learning about all kinds of 4-H Projects. There will be project experts from Greene, Sullivan, Unicoi, Hawkins and Washington Counties to lead you through three different sessions to help you learn more about the project you choose. Schedule: 9:30 - 10:00 am Registration 10:00 - 10:15 am Welcome 10:20 - 11:20 am Class I 11:25 - 11:40 am Ronald McDonald House Presentation 11:40 - 12:30 pm Lunch 12:30 - 1:30 pm Class 2 1:30 - 2:30 pm Class 3 2:30 - 2:45 pm Evaluation 3:00 pm Finish for the day This event is sponsored by: Washington County Cattle Producers G.L. A service project for the Ronald McDonald House will also be conducted at Project Celebration Day. You are encouraged to bring one (or more) items from the RMH wish list which can be found on their web-

site at: http://www.rmhsa.org/ or your local Extension Agent can give you a list of needed items.

It’s Electric - Build a lamp! Learn about electricity and get a useful project that lasts for years. Bring your favorite soft drink can to wire and make a great little lamp to take home.

Let’s Hammer Away - Come and build a bird house for a woodworking project you can take home or enter at the fair.

Salt Sculpture/Art - You may know about sand sculpture or sand art. Salt sculpture is similar, but you learn how to color your salt and make an abstract picture and a salt sculpture you can enter at the fair.

Bracelet Braiding - Do you like friend-ship bracelets? You’ll love this class if you do! Come make a hemp braided bracelet. Don’t forget to enter it at the fair!

Paper Pierce Embroidery Cards - Make a beautiful handmade card using the prick & stitch method. Card stitching is easy when you follow step by step instructions.

The T-Zone  ‐  Is your favorite T-shirt too big, out of shape, or just plain ordi-nary? Bring a t-shirt and a cool button pin with you, and learn how to make a one-of-a-kind pouch to hold MP3 players, sun-glasses, and more!

Creative Tooling and Tangling in Metal Create personalized designs using copper and aluminum with a variety of tools and implements. Make a wall hanging, greet-ing card, or a sun catcher from metal. Let your imagination be your guide.

Classes

Horsing Around - Horse lovers come and learn the secrets of horse care and showmanship. Workshops will cover grooming, correct turnout for horse and rider and how to do the four square showmanship pattern.

Barnyard/Sheep Basics - Want to raise sheep? If so then this is the class for you.

Good Dog, Bad Dog - It’s up to you to make your dog a good citizen of your home and community. Learn some basics on training and caring for your dog.

Growing a Blue Ribbon Pullet - Learn the basics about caring for and raising chickens, as well as, other neat stuff about poultry!

Beef Cattle on the “Moo”ve - Want to raise beef cattle or learn more about them? This class will cover selection, nu-trition, grooming, equipment needed, showmanship, and marketing.

GPS or Global Positioning System - While GPS is a complex technology, understanding it is easy if you take it one step at a time. You will work with GPS equipment to go on a “GEO search,” hunt-ing for “treasures” hidden throughout the fairgrounds.

Baby-sitting Basics - Do you panic at the thought of baby sitting? Would you like to learn to be a great babysitter. The class will teach you the responsibilities and qualities of a good babysitter. Learn about safety, basic childcare, and leadership.

Aloha: Experience a Tropical Party - Come celebrate like the Polynesians, learn about a luau and wear a tropical lei.

Painting from Watercolor - Experiment with wet on wet watercolor, in a style simi-lar to Winslow Homer. This method also called “watercolor style”.

Basketry - Make a simple basket you can finish in one class. Learn the basics about weaving and basketry as you complete a simple berry basket you can take home.

Tie Dye - Try your hand at the art of tie-dye as you can create you own colorful tie-dyed t-shirts or other articles of clothing. Bring the item you want to tie-dye (50% cotton or more).

Dancing with the STARS – Have fun and learn some new dance steps. You will laugh and have a good time.

Gardens to Go - Plan to get your hands dirty as you plant a terrarium to take home. Bring an empty clear 2-liter plastic bottle with you.

Konnichiwa - Explore Japan! Learn about the country and see Japanese clothing and items. You will get to make Japanese food and make some origami.

Giuseppe's Pizzeria - Make your own personal sized breakfast, snack or dinner pizza. You can eat them afterwards!

Food Fiesta - A taste of Mexico! Wear a sombrero, make a Mexican dish and learn some games from Mexico. This fun, interactive session will have you up and moving as you learn about healthy food choices and join the music and celebra-tion of a Mexican Fiesta!

Let’s Make Ice Cream - Have you ever milked a dairy cow? Do you know dairy cow breeds? Have you ever made ice cream or butter? Guess where they come from! Come find the answers. We’ll make ice cream in a bag.

Outdoor Cookery - Come learn about cooking in the great outdoors. Have fun cooking on a grill or over an open fire as you learn how to prepare a tasty meal.

To Infinity and Beyond - Exploring our world and beyond through rocketry. Design, make and blast off your rocket creations.
