Course OverviewThis 4-day course comprises of 1 day of Lectures/Pigs Jaw Hands-on and 3 days

of Live Patient Extraction training under the watchful eye of a highlyexperienced dental surgeon in a modern, state-of-the-art facility in the heart of

Ho Chi Minh City.HELP in Extractions is a clinically driven course, straight to the point and with a

strong emphasis on Live-patient experience. With an expectation that courseparticipants already have a good foundation in basic anatomy, this course

imparts solid techniques and approaches founded on years of experience andevidence based dentistry.

The key objective of this course is to provide participants with Live-patientextraction experience allowing them to feel confident in managing complexextraction cases. All patients are selected on the basis of clinical need and

philanthropic reasons. All patients will also be treated in a clinical setting fullyequipped and operated to match Australian standards.

Course FrameworkDay 1: Lecture and Pigs Jaw Hands-on practice

­ Case Selection based on Medical History, Clinical examination and radiographicassessment

­ Anatomical considerations­ Consent and Communications skill building to minimise medico­legal issues

­ Local Anaesthesia techniques­ Instrument selection

­ Clinical tips and Pearls of wisdom in approaching different teeth in the mouth­ Clinical tips for performing atraumatic flapless sectioning

­ Flap design, bone removal and suture techniques­ Postoperative management and managing complications

Dr. Khaled Shahin has over 13-years of General dental clinical experience and owns 2Private practices in Queensland. Although Dr. Shahin applies all fields of dentistry in his dayto day practice, he has a keen interest in surgical procedures.
