TIME AND PLACE FOR WASTE COLLECTION
• There are two kind of
dustbin at each station
• Two separated color dustbin
(green and orange)
• Dustbins only placed at
station at regulated time
Advantage of waste collection by dustbin at transfer station:
Time for waste collection lasts longer, up to 2,5 hours. This is easier for
people
• Waste thrown into dustbin sanitary. Assure urban landscape
TRANSFER STATION
TRANSFER STATION
There are two separated trucks for tow kind of waste and transported to Nam Son dump site and Cau
Dien compost station.

ACTIVITIES AND IMPLEMENTATION BODIES
OUTPUT OF PROJECT AFTER THREE YEAR OF
IMPLEMENTATION
Implementing source separation model successfully to collect
organic waste for compost, promoting recycling.
Improving organic waste produce process, environmental sanitation
and saving operation cost for Cau Dien factory.
Implementing activities on communication and education on
environment in 4 pilot wards, people’s awareness enhanced, people
cooperate and participate source separation activities actively.
Attracting people to participate Mottainai movement, shaping saving
awareness for people.
Movements on nylon use reduction carried out through project,
promoting usage of ecological package for environmental protection.
- Some places are still facing with
difficulties in propaganda due to
people’s awareness
- Lack of cooperation from
enterprises (they are not under
control of street block or ward)
- In pilot wards, with large area,
many markets, high density with
different kind of people, people’s
awareness is still low, this cause
difficulty for project maintenance
- Promoting
propaganda at each
household through
head of block and
member of women
union
- Keeping check,
remind and counting
mark for competition
in each block
DIFFICULTIES AND SOLUTIONS
The project needs paying attention from authorities, responsibility should be defined clearly.
Practically, closely cooperation among authorities, mass-organizations, street blocks play important role for success of project.
There should have budget to maintain source separation, have support mechanism for 3R collaborator.
