3ds max pipeline• Use postprocessed (properly cut)

– Movie from Overview Camera– MOVEN file as .bvh– Vicon file as .fbx

• Create two bipeds in 3ds max and load the .bvh files as motion capture onto them

• Rescale the time to match the number of the frames in the video

• Open a new 3ds max file and use the Movie as the viewport background

• Import the Vicon data, rescale the time and roughly rotate it onto the Movie background

• Use Camera Matching from 3ds max to select several visible points in the Vicon data and then on the background to re-cre-ate the proper camera position

3ds max pipeline

• Model objects into the scene as required (watch, tables, etc.)

• Import the bipeds into the scene• For each biped:

– create an animation layer– do a key bind to the first frame– hit the animation button– using the move/rotate tool, and shuttling back and forth, opti-

mize the position of the bipeds to exactly match the Video

• Optimize the positions and handling of the scene objects in a similar fashion using, for example, animated link con-straints as well as linking to Vicon motion

• Insert light source and render as required!• Done!

3ds max pipeline - com-ments

• The whole process takes an experi-enced user ~2hrs

• It vastly improves the quality of the Vicon – Moven integration to yield more correct combined data– Use the automatically prepared se-

quences with care!
